Everyone has been telling me the same thing about sales

Just about every webmaster I have talked to, I don't name names.. Has been saying sales are a bit slow, but rebills are pretty steady. Its pretty much across the board with all sponsors, not just one or two.. CCbill sponsors seem to be worse than some of the others that do there own processing.
I think a big part of this is prob the housing market, as some people are really scared of the economy. This comes from webmasters that have pretty much the same traffic as a few months ago, and have not increased the amount of traffic they are getting.. There is still a lot of surfers spending, I think they are just more niche specific and a bit harder sell.. anyway thats the word I have been getting so if your sales are a little flat, its not you or the sponsor but everyone I talk to is a little flat..

Not here. Granted, my market is mainly UK which is a little different to the US. Dec 2007 was my best month ever, Jan was a little down on Dec but it's looking like Feb is going to overtake Dec by 10% or so, fingers crossed.

It's weird because where one sponsor's sales will drop, another will take it's place. For me it's been 8 months of experimenting to find out what I was doing wrong. I over analyze things as a precaution but the successful equation was something simple like keep promoting unique content and get them partner accounts for submitting galleries.

My stuff has and always will convert. All I've ever had to do was promote it. Dudes like them big tit cartoons. They don't get that Catholic guilt thing for looking at a toon.

The country however is in a dilemma economically. Housing, credit, and medical bills are killing people. That's the big thing of the upcoming elections. People are terrified and fucked up. We've spent half a trillion easy blowing up another country based on bullshit and that money could have been used to establish an economic stability infrastructure that would have turned the US into the country it should be instead of a third world lookalike. Sure it may affect our sales but I think it's the weather disasters that have done more to mess with sales.

People are adjusting and when disaster happens they turn to escapism that's why comic books and movies always do well when times are hard.

People losing sales are probably pushing the same tired ass sponsors as everyone else. Micro niche is the ticket to success. Find or make that micro niche. That was one of the most successful things I've ever done and it was by dumb ass luck. You hit a micro niche that no one is exploiting and viral will carry it to the ends of the web. Example let's say there's a fetish for women with lipstick on their eyebrows dressed in green. People looking for content about this fetish will seek one another out and start a message board and then one day you put up a free site or pay site and they find you and next thing you know you have a couple hundred people piling in.

Micro niche is the key for the small to medium sized webmaster to make good 5 figures and more.

Same here, my ratios doubled before Christmas and haven't gone back to normal since and traffic is the same.

December was my best month ever and thanks to rebills January was an average month. February is looking bleak....

I think Americans have taken too much loans and now they can't afford to pay monthly tax, they do not have enough money.

My sales are probably still too small to spot any genuine trends but things did seem a bit slow in February, until yesterday. I think it's the same old problem, February is a tight month because you always put off the bills you couldn't pay in January, some credit card companies allow a payment holiday in January so you have extra to pay in Feb, etc, etc. Things will pick up.

dont know. as for me - sales are up and rebills are good. from other hand - my personal ratio are low for last 7 days - about 1:900

here best 5 affiliates ratio what i taked from first 50 results in nats with 1 signup per last 7 day search criteria:

10 (1:151)
6 (1:195)
12 (1:209)
7 (1:421)
7 (1:644)

so, looking in our program stats overall - our affiliates ratio really better then at january.

Don't some of you think that link thieves like Zango will be affecting sales for affiliates.
Pre-signup diversion will be having an effect as well. Just checkout the webmasters who are boasting of stunning ratios.

Most people here are still building their business, so its to be expected taht you see more sales each month even if there is a downward trend in sales and ratios.

My biz has been stable and hasn't really grown all that much for a couple of years now and I definitely see the trend. The start of this year has been one of the worst for US signup ratios.

You have a point, but SEX sells... Man, i made sales on 911.. go figure... ya just never know... It has been proven that sex is a stress cure-all, people reach out for it under times of duress. Sales wil always go up and down, its normal.. Good times, slow times... Its a cycle of many factors when dealing with the general public,,.. You just never know what the fuck they are thinking.. LOL

My CCBill sales are way, way up but with other sponsors I notice some changes. It still evens out in the end without a decrease and an increase, but I'm also adding new sponsors every day and doing new projects.

I know for me it's the damn heating bills. My fuel is up to $3.70 per gallon, up more than $1.00 from last year.

Just last night I checked my checking account for what reoccurring bills I can get rid of. I got rid of a game site and and a forum and Im saving almost $40.00 a month.

$3.70? Damn, I thought $3.39 that I pay was a lot. A lot of people around here do cash only with fly-by-night operations and pay $2.75 a gallon. I'd rather have a reputable company that services my oil burners as well.

(A friend of mine who I thought was making a good living was telling me she only buys 100 gallons at a time, for cash. Surprised the hell out of me)
