I Want To Make Changes To The Contest

I would like to make a change to the contest I started but I won't do it if it's going to upset anyone that donated points. I was thinking that it would be much more effective if I divided out the cash by the number of points generated instead of having first second and third place winners.

The advantage of this would be that money would be given based on how much work each person did and it would give some smaller players the chance to earn some money. I think the end result would be more crunch time.

It would be easy for me to do this. After the contest is over I would just add up all the points from the participants and then divide each persons points from the total giving me their percentage. I can then determine how much money they will receive.

Globo would have to agree with this as well if he wants to add his points or he can just give out his NP points the way he wants.

What do you guys think about this?

You must tread very lightly when changing the rules to a content after it has begun. This is often a way for people to lose interest in the contest, or lose confidence in the creator(s) of the contests.

This is purely my own opinion, so like I said take it at face value. If the participants are in agreement of your rule changes, then all the best of luck to everybody.

yes, I understand what your saying but the contest doesn't officially start until March.

If many people are against this I won't do it but this is really the most fair way to give out the prize money and it will prevent any cheating.

I'm glad to hear your input.

I just think it will be so much better this way because the people with slower computers will still be motivated to crunch as much data as they can and the people that push a lot of work units will get the most money for the work they do.
