I used to play Project Entropia Entropia Universe

Started out as curiosity since im big on MMOs and Multi-player Worlds. I dislike things such as Eve Online because the world seems fake and pointless. Starting out with EU was a bit different and very interesting due to the real cash economy. Anyone who hunts deer on the weekend or spends money on sports (even tickets to games) basically does the same thing. My brother in law spends over $800 in fuel for his boat just to hit the Gulf for a day of Tuna fishing. In this game the players hunt virtual animals and monsters where they can profit and win bragging rights just like in the real world.

So while it may seem crazy dropping $200-500 a weekend on a video game many are doing it. I myself got caught up and ended up spending about $100 a week before it got old for me. There were times when i considered up front investing to cover my game play. Looking at the investments some had made it only appeared their investments were basically prepayment of bulk credits. Many of these folks want to be known so they sport around in $300 trench coats and $200 hats for the attention which eats away at the monthly profits. So to get rich you have to save and resist the temptation of doing what everyone else making good money does.

I used to also spend lots of money on Lineage 2 Adena and World of Warcraft Gold. That was before learning how to profit off other wealthy players. For some of us we just dont have the time to spend hours a day grinding game currency. Which by the way you can do for free in Project Entropia by sweating as the call it. I have obligations and im out to enjoy the game rather which can only be done in limited capacity without wealth. Currently i can pull in about 500-800g per day in World of Warcraft without much effort. Some players are actually spending over $1k per month of their own money to fund entire guilds just because they have money to burn.

No they are not aimed at webmasters so there is your first advantage

IMVU is like pyramid selling. people make meshes, the 3d artists, programmers. IMVU have a base price of 250 credits and on top of that you the meshers put there profit. You can edit there mesh and add your own textures and set your own price so 250 to IMVU + plus mesher profit + plus your profit = selling price. Credit can be sold out of the game either selling yourself or by going thru a reseller. Current rate is about 45% 250 credits is about 10-15 cents.

"And how do people who are not skilled earn in that game?"
Generally they don't they steal textures from google or make music products using ripped mp3's, sorta like doing a porn site with ripped content.. you make think your onto it but you will NEVER make serious cash by doing it that way.

90% of those deveoping are just looking to make extra credits to spend in the game itself.

Thanks for reply. Now I remember playing game called runescape years ago and made some nice money just reselling things/merchanting. Actually resellers were the ones who were earning the most inthe game. Could that be done in this game? Like you have no other skills just good sales skills.

I tried to run second life but it's not compatible with my laptop's processor. Probably a good thing, I already have enough timesinks in my life.

It costs you about $10 to get setup as a developer and another $20 if you want to have an access pass ( internal adult verfication ). if your serious there is some good cash, but you want to either be handy with Photoshop or something like 3dmax/ sketchup. I just work there as a texture artist and have nearly 50 accounts now, two at Pro level

Think of it as marketing with these 3d worlds and before you do a thing build a home page and ask yourself the same questions you do with domains, how do I get traffic.

All the professional artists tend to just make clothes, so let them have that area , start with furniture items and just look for meshes that can be changed with only changing one texture. Your best customers are not the men its the women aged 35 + ie boarded housewives. i sell ingame credits as well and some of these users spend 200-$500 bucks a month in these games, most of the junkie users will blow about $20-$50.

I can't say its easy money because it is not, most of your market is teens, you just got to look for the mums online too The game has rules and you need to keep to them, so if you want to sell adult itms you can but you need to have a adultpass. there is good money in adult BUT its not the most profitable area in these games.
You beat me to mentioning IMVU lol, It was ALLOT better months ago, they went through hell and back with their Adultpass (now renamed accesspass) they also (as i'm sure you know) butchered the entire 'adult' inventory at the same time.

There WAS talk in the inner circles there about a group of people creating an adults only version of IMVU (not endorsed by the company mind you) that would take them back to where it was in the begining.

I opened an account there when they first opened and created some content for the game, made decent RL cash converting the game money to RL cash, but after all the new rules kicked in I pretty much just gave up all together, I STILL get about 5-10 emails a week informing me that my "Voice boxes" are still selling lol.

As for SecondLife, there deff IS money to be made if you have (like mentioned already) a solid plan of action, BUT you WILL spend hours upon hours in the game so you need to be careful that your hours spent VS income generated is not one sided.

People got pissed because developers had made stuff that was out of IMVU guidelines, why so many got pissed at IMVU I don't know as their rules were there from day one. I just stay away from adult stuff completly and work on furniture items. The problems with IMVU are also its advantages, its in eternal beta, they chnage shit that completly wipes your income, then fix a week or month later, with a oh we are sorry excuse. Quality wise it shits all over Secondlife, nothing even comes close from what I have seen elsewhere on the web, its begging for the likes of Myspace or Facebook to include and then it will explode... thats the gamble I'm taking anyway. I have lots of accounts there now... just waiting my turn
