I noticed on the Netpond bank page via CP that there is a loan function with amount must be between 0 and 0. I do not wish to take out a loan but wondered is it something that is available or not yet?

A cool feature would be the ability for members to offer loans to each other with varied interest rates... Yes I would like to be a loan shark who has to employ the heavy and ugly members for late payments

The loan feature is only available for people who make no money.

I would loan small amounts for domain fees and such (under $20) but no less then 10% interest. This would be a super high risk loan and as such that would actually be pretty cheap.

You have given me a great idea actually.

It's not worth the effort Varzi. Whilst most guys are pretty straight, the few that aren't more than outweigh any advantages.

Everything has its price and risk factor, don't loan what you cannot afford to lose and you will be fine. I meant the ability to say loan a member 500 points, then all posts made by that member get credited to the lender plus interest until it is paid off.

Just a few select people could be nominated as 'loan sharks' and they could set their own rates. Take it or leave it style, just an idea

yes, if 2 out of 20 does not pay back you are in some minus, if 3 out of 20 you are in big minus. And thats pretty optimistic, unless you loan to 2 trusted persons per month, but what - 3-4$ profit

It could be as a friendly gesture, but friends don't take interest

Its a good thing people who cannot afford to lose $20 are not running paysites. If a customer charges back you lose that money and you are charged a $25 fine to boot. Most people who make money running sites take risks and also understand the dangers.

I have many customers who make me less then $2 per month and it all adds up over the course of many years. If i told you it takes two years of renting out a dedicated server to make substantial profit you would probably think i was lying. But it actually takes an entire year and sometimes more just to break even on the cost of hardware alone. Maybe i should just tell my customers to visit your sig because their $2 is just not good enough for what it costs to provide them service.
