Restart FF.

If you don't have that entry, then click on any entry, right click, select New, String. In the first box, enter the entry above, then in the second box, enter the new location. Restart FF.
Thanks pretty much man, gonna apply it now

The first pic was the system's direct access read speed, as well as the cache-enabled read speed ...

I thought the pic was very clear in stating that myself?

I really haven't see any screenshot that would prove anything.

And I really don't know how nand memory with random data read of 2,5MB/s could speed up anything if you have enough free ram and modern disk drive (or two).
I guess me and docputer and Kaktusan and the few others who have actually taken the time to try it are all lying then ???

Why don't you take your head out of your ass long enough to download the FREE TRIAL and play with it yourself?????? If you don't like it, I am not going to force you to buy it man .... I promise.

Geeeeesh! STOP THE INSANITY PEOPLE!!

This thread was NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS supposed to create so much controversy ..

Yes but access read speed of what? Disk? Memory? What?

I'm just wondering about tech stuff behind this. Nothing else. Right now I don't have any performance problem / issues nor time for play.

This is hilarious!

eBoostr does everything that Microsoft ReadyBoost can do. It replaces relatively slow access to hard disk by fast one to flash memory, allowing you to use up to four different flash devices, and provides the same benefits of increased system performance, improved application load times and better overall responsiveness.
When USB 2.0 memory became faster then SATA disks?!

Quote:
eBoostr is even more useful than ReadyBoost as it does not place strict performance requirements on the flash memory you use to speed up your system. While ReadyBoost requires you to use faster and more costly memory cards, eBoostr can work with just about every inexpensive flash drive on the market
Do you know why? Because this actually is sensible. ReadyBoost from MS is technology meant for SolidStateDisks which are much faster than SATA or any other magnetic based disk drive!

One more thing that should be pointed out - USB is serial bus with shared bandwidth. If you use 10MB/s for this insanse cache stuff your printer, sound card, scanner or any other device will have LESS bandwidth for its data.

SSD disks are attached to SATA2 interface which can handle over 300MB/s and SSD disks are close to SATA2 bus limit.

You should understand memory hierarchy and memory management to know what can be "boosted" and what can't. You can't boost disk read speed of 60MB/s with device that can do only 10MB/s.

Plug a memory card or a flash drive into your laptop and enjoy increased system performance and longer battery life! It’s no secret that mobile hard drives used in notebook computers are much slower than their desktop counterparts.
They are still around 4-5 times faster than USB2.0 memory card.
