Design question - making a text logo?
is there any software packages designed especially to make fancy text, like logos and such. i tried the Logo Creator ages back and wasnt too keen on it

LOL, i've just been playing around with Paint shop pro and i've just discovered that in all the years i have had it i've always had the effects toolbar hidden! no wonder i've never mastered design work!

Photoshop and / or Illustrator.

Saving money? Look into The Gimp (free).

Learn to utilize layers, effects, etc. A few online demos can really help.

Yep I use Photoshop, I prefer that one, and once I like something I dont tend to try others coz then its confusing lol

Not to mention cost an absolute fortune, erm, unless you know someone that is.

Paint Shop Pro can do everything you need rogue, but I always did find the text functions a bit fiddly out of the box, the anti aliasing, stroke width etc are a bit awkward to get any decent looking text from.
