You (the general membership) complain when old threads are bumped, and you complain when old threads are closed. Netpond has a VERY CLEAR rules about bumping old threads

An 18 day old thread, whether you like it or not, has dropped way past the first few pages. It wasn't even business related with a lot of valuable info in it that could make it an exception to the rule.

At least once a week someone is asking 'spam me with'... I personally get fed-up with the same o' same o' posts and wonder why the search function is not used more often. I can bet before this time next week we will have another hosting question...

When I see this I feel like bumping old threads which are relevant. I have seen an old thread bumped and I have joined in half way through not realising it was an old thread simply because it contained decent info.

At the end of the day the owners of this forum and who they appoint as admins have the call and I feel it should be at admins discretion.

There are certain members, not newbs, that STILL ask the most basic questions in a thread. It's clear they didn't spend five seconds on a subject they could have looked up on Google.That bothers me a lot more than bumping old threads which quite frankly is made into a much bigger deal than I would have thought.

And, when I respond with "search is your friend" I'm either told "thank you" or "fuck off, that's not an appropriate answer" .. you can't win.

It's like people who post and ask questions about sponsors without even bothering to ask the sponsor themselves.
