mojoman, how should we behave?

...what should we do when a thread gets deleted and we don't know why? are we not allowed to ask in public about that?

...how did scream insult you to earn an infraction? by saying he has every fucking right to ask?

...is there anything else we should make sure of in order not to step on your toes?

I've just seen the red card thingy for giving infractions. Has everybody got one of those?

btw i am referring to this thread http://www.netpond.com/adult-webmast...se-thread.html. i guess not everyone likes chris, but he's an experienced webmaster who hadn't posted in a long while before, why just close his chitchat thread and drive him away for good? and why get all pissed off and infract scream for asking? after all he's the one who makes netpond the most money

hbc.
when your politics thread was removed, and you pm'd a mod to ask why, i noticed that it was moved and put it back to where it was. when a thread is moved, the mod should send you a pm explaining why. obviously that never happened, so, i asked the mod you asked initially to explain that i was going to put it back.

so, to answer your q, you shouldn't have to ask why your thread was (re)moved, which i believe has been explained to you before?

scream's thread was not about asking why the thread was closed - a reason was given - but it was something along the lines of, 'power tripper incorrectly closed thread again, let's call him out' showing little respect for me or my decision.

as for what happened between me and scream, it's none of your business, it's between me and scream. scream wanted to drag it out onto the board to try and provoke this type of response.

and damien, an infraction is what you get when you've been naughty.

nope, it was never explained to me why it was removed, only that it was put back. but that's not what i asked now. i asked if we should pm you or who else when we don't know why an own thread was removed, and if we're not allowed to ask on the board??? there are so many mods, how should we know whom to contact?

i dunno what has happened between you and scream before but it seems to me you're just assuming this. it was a valid question from scream, look at how chris reacted.

So Mojoman claims I insulted him. That's why he presented me with that infraction.

Now where the hell did I insult you, Mojoman? Saying 'you ain't shit' is now an insult?

You're kidding me, right? The lack of respect in the post and tone of it?

Good thing I don't run Netpond or you'd be out on your ass.

There's a reason why you don't.

It wasn't explained to me either by the person who removed it, so I still don't know why it was removed by him/her. As I told you, I asked why it was removed and mentioned that I didn't see anything wrong with the thread, but it wasn't my decision. Mojoman then put it back and I PMd you with an apology on behalf of Netpond.

Whom to ask is a good question and something I had been working on with Meat, but he hasn't been around for weeks so the discussion has ground to a halt. I'm going to try to pursue it with someone else. IMHO, and this is just MY opinion, start at the top and work your way down as admins generally have more info than moderators do.

read again. there was nothing wrong at all with screams first post, he just asked the question in a totally neutral way. to which mojoman reacted very strongly and accused him of stirring up shit...

do you guys not care at all if another long term member like chris leaves this place?

i just hope that the ominous person didn't remove it for political reasons. but let's let that be, the thread is still going strong, thanks again for your intervention.

All sorts of things are going on with Netpond at the moment. The best thing is to relax and wait for the next wave. Netpond is a great place, and no doubt the summer will bring a new harvest for us.

I'd like to ask all of you with opinions where exactly we should draw the line when it comes to old threads?

Where would you personally draw the line?

You (the general membership) complain when old threads are bumped, and you complain when old threads are closed. Netpond has a VERY CLEAR rules about bumping old threads
See: Netpond ™ - FAQ

An 18 day old thread, whether you like it or not, has dropped way past the first few pages. It wasn't even business related with a lot of valuable info in it that could make it an exception to the rule.
