It seems the best idea to get a toplist started is by building it yourself in the begining. Don't even offer it on the boards before you've added 10-20 of your sites atleast. Seems to be the only way to get a toplist started really.

Register at protect-x and findtrades. Look for good trades, some larger then yourself but most of them should be with similar visitors. Get up to 300 trades in your toplist, and your toplist will take off...
I started last wek with filling a toplist on 1 of my sites, got about 200 trades there now and the site went from 300/400 unique's a day to 2,5K/3K unique's per day.. |

You mean add another toplists to the listing? Well I have added a few already but, isnt it like CJ then?? I noticed there are toplists that 99% consist from another toplists.. I wonder if thats productive.. The idea is to list sites that have some content isnt it? |

First add all your sites to it and add the vote links to each site
Second add your sponsor sites to it and make a note of all the vote links. Then in a blank file drop the following php code. Change each line for one of the vote links for your sponsor site. You can add extra lines (or remove lines) just make sure that each new line you change the $Url1 to the next sequential number, then change the 10 in $num = rand (1,10); to the actual number of $Url's you have. Save it as whatever.php and upload to your site. PHP Code:
What the page does is randomly vote for your sponsors, which means they get in traffic and rank on the toplist, distributing any traffic you're sending to the list yourself amongst your sponsors and not just entering without voting. __________________

The toplist phreak is talking about is for TGPs, it's a trading script that monitors incoming traffic and shows the tops referrers (it's a top referrer list really) the scripts usually also have an ability to skim out traffic to your trades instead of galleries.
TGPers usually call the list of trading sites on their tgp the toplist (when it should be the top referrer list), and they often get confused with what the rest of us are talking about when we talk about toplists, which is a dedicated list of sites, usually with banners or thumbs, but has nothing to do with gallery traffic. __________________

Thanks Rebel & Rogue.
Just one more question... Where does the voting thing come in? I assume this is with the 'genuine' toplists not the TGT/Top Referrers lists, right? Is it just another way of sending traffic to the toplist - i.e. 'vote for my site' instead of just a plain 'visit my friends' link? Or am I missing something? ...er, that might be four questions ![]() |
