I've never used the ignore feature on any board. There's really no point to it. No one gets me that worked up to place them on ignore. It's a message board. It's not like the person is in the room with you and one can't escape. Yes, some people I do find rather annoying, but I simply scan the post to see if anything needs done, and continue on.

Ignore, why? If you do, you can generally catch the idea of their posts from other people's following posts (quotes, or no quotes).

If persons unknown (and face it, most of us would probably never get to meet, or even if we did, would we know who each other was anyway) have a habit of upsetting you on a forum, then it should be not asking why they are on a forum, or on ignore, but why are you on that forum...

That is a strange way of looking at it, i prefer to not see them so they can't upset me, and yes sometimes people here do piss me off, and why i am on the forum? i have no clue but i keep coming back to this place

I've never tried using ignore on any forum, but that is indeed the way it works, isn't it?
I think the annoyance factor of not knowing what the hell people are talking about in a thread, would weigh heavier than the annoyance factor of the person(s) you've put on ignore
