A lot of people, especially Liverpool fans discredit Man United by saying they spend a lot of money buying players to be where they are. The fact is Liverpool has consistently spent more money than United.

Since 1998 United have spent the following:

£269.92 million on 36 players and regenerated £121.75 million selling 51 players

Leaving a total outgoing of £148.17 million

In the same period Liverpool have spent £262.996 million on 89 players and regenerated £71.171 million selling players

Leaving a total outgoing of £198.921 million

That's £50 million more than United.

Chelsea has spent more in the 2 years than United in 10 years.

As a Leeds fan I don't care who wins out of Liverpool, Chelsea or Man U if I am totally honest however, Man U have a better production line of quality Enlish talent and the manager is British so I guess they just edge my vote.

MU had a stinker the other night. lol But I think they should be able to outscore Barca at Old Trafford.

Liverpool is funny, they get the results more in Europe compared to the domestic league.

I would disagee, they set out to not concede a goal, I think they were quite happy to play for the 0-0, hence why Rooney was playing wide. Sure Barca had all the possession but you have to do something with it. Some would say Man U defended brilliantly, the return leg will be something different you see...

I would put money on Man United winning by 2 goals at home. Barca played very well in the first leg considering their season so far and Man United the exact opposite. But saying that I'm not one to bet on latter stages of competitions. Part of my 'system' of betting lol. Like I do not bet on semis or finals in the World Cup or the first match of each team. One of the reason is there isn't time to recoup if I lost and another is no one really has an upperhand as they're all in pretty good form to get that far. Regarding first matches, history show that upsets happen more often.

I totally agree about them doing a job by not conceding but they would rather a 1-1 than a 0-0. Performance wise this had to be one of the 3 or 4 poorest games they've played this season. Much of the game they couldn't even get out of their own third of the field or string a few passes together.
