Any personal account, savings or a cheque account. It doesn't matter the type of personal account they don't make charges for small cheques under £50

The choice is yours. If you go into your branch they will give you a deposit form for foreign cheques. If you fill in one form for each cheques under £50 there is no fees. If you have two cheques that are under £50 then use one form and its no fees.

It's probably easier for me just to post their charges here lol

Quote:
Cheques, Travellers cheques, sterling cheques payable abroad and triangular transactions (i.e. cheques drawn in currency other than that of the country drawn upon) are subject to the following charges.

Under £50 - Free.

Under £100 - £4 plus interest and correspondent's charges as detailed below.

£100 and over - 1/4%min. £9 max. £60 per schedule plus interest as follows:

Sterling cheques - 1/2%min. £2 per schedule

Triangular cheques - 1/4%min. £2 per schedule

Correspondent's charges of £6 to be levied on Sterling and triangular transactions

Cheques can also be cleared on a Collection basis. The clearance time for this procedure can take between 4 to 6 weeks. The charge for cheque collection is:
Minimum of £16.00 or .25% whichever is the greater, maximum of £40.00. Please check this with your branch at the time of deposit.
As far as barclays are concerned their fees apply per cheque deposit form.

My main sponsor pays me by UK bank transfer, which is ideal. The rest of my money comes through Epassporte and the odd dollar cheque. I especially opened an account with Llyods to cash my dollar cheques, they charge £8 per batch of cheques, I wait until I have about 10 and then cash them.
That is the way to go. Get the manager to negotiate them, and they clear 3 days after you put them in. Once you start getting payments over 1k per period, organsie transfers.

Unless a sponsor pays via wire I don't use them.

Does ePassporte charge extra for UK webmasters? Isn't it just $2 per ATM withdrawal?

If they charge extra, that sucks.

I have a sponsor who hasn't paid me in well over year as they paid me with a handwritten check from the UK and I would not accept it. My bank charges too much to convert it.

epassporte is inconvenient, it's fine if you are getting less than $300 but if you get more you have to constantly go to the cash machine to withdraw money. Also another point is with epassporte if you are earning more than $2100 a week you have to get a wire transfer (because you can only withdraw $2100 a week, $300 a day), which at $50 is a rip off.

Plus it does not accept Mastercard so its a dodgy payment processor.

Ask Michael to increase your withdrawal limit. Mine has been increased to $700, so I draw out £300 every time.

Isn't the default daily limit US$520.00?

I'm in one of those high risk country with a sponsored limited card and I've always withdraw close to US$500 each time without problem to prevent paying the $2 fee more times than required.
