Anyone interested in premium blog designs?

Hey Netponders, I know there's quite a few bloggers around here, so I thought I'd check if any of you are interested in some premium blog designs. These are exclusive, each is only sold once and designed according to the client's specifications, with input from us, if needed. All themes are coded in cross-platform functional tableless CSS. I'm willing to offer Netponders a first-time purchase discount of 10%, so if you want any your price will be $270 instead of the base price is $299. As I said, you receive a fully tableless CSS design, all fonts and the psd files. Bulk orders are naturally subject to further negotiations and discounts.



*Note: the toons used in the jigglymelons and wmreviews designs weren't done by us, the clients already had them when they came to us for the blog designs. But we're fully capable of providing toons as well. However, they're not included in the base price and require an additional custom quote, depending on complexity.

They look nice , but I think for the average blogger here the price is a bit steep .

Especially if the design is going to be used for a 'splog' like blog .
If a webmaster builds a new blog every day or so, paying $270/$299 for a design gets pricey

Can't you setup a deal with nice designs like this , only non exclusive ?
(and thus : cheaper)

That way it would be more interesting to buy one .

Your themes are truly professional, but as Red Metal I'd say $299 is too expensive. I won't name any other service provider, but you Google about this you will find same service at a much lower price.

Bottom line, you're good at what you do, just try to adapt your business to the buyers .

Yup I agree with the posts above...

Lovely designs man - however there are sites many of us use out there offering similar for a quarter of the price...and they sell in limited numbers

Of course they also offer 100% exclusive too for a fee similar to the ones above...

While I agree that the prices are very steep if the designs are to be used on splogs, I also think ANY price is too steep if you intend to use the theme on a splog.

There are tons of free themes out there which you can easily use on a splog and they don't require much customization or maintenance. Neither does a splog, in most cases, require a unique appearance, since you're not very likely to get lots of bookmarkers by syndicating posts and not using any unique content.

Thanks for all the comments though, all appreciated. We HAVE been looking into setting up a model to sell non-exclusive templates, but for now it is yet to be implemented and we still prefer to offer totally custom themes.

The post should have been in the blog forum or opportunities, but most on Netpond are newbies who can't even afford to register a domain or have their own hosting, let alone drop $300 for a design without a toon (fine print says toon is extra, right?)

No fine print, I believe it's quite clear that the toon is not included in the base price. But just in case my wording wasn't clear enough, yes, toon in the header is extra.

Great Designs and I agree the pricing is a bit steep - I have a few custom blogs and have paid less for more.

Just a suggestion your target market is maybe not people here on netpond who are making blog after blog after blog... but people creating solo hand written blogs - maybe solo cam or phone girls for example. (though there are people who market more in a package to solo girls)

I paid $300 for the design on one blog and that didn't include the toon. She had done it for CuteNews for $200 then did it for WordPress for $300.

For others I've paid about half that but they don't have toons.

It depends if you plan to get a lot of traffic to the blog, to brand it, etc.

Thing is, templates that are just as good can be bought for $30 to 50, and author only sells them like five-ten times maximum. This still makes them unique enough.

Someone of course might become interested, but most of us here are mass bloggers in one form or another.

You might want to look up "unique" in the dictionary though.

I don't disagree with you. I just have an issue with the semantics of "unique enough".

To me unique means ONE, any more than one copy and it's no longer unique. I tend to get anal about semantics every now and then.

That being said, if we were to start selling templates, what do you guys think would be a fair price? $30, $40, $50? I'd personally prefer to sell fewer copies for a higher price, even if that wouldn't necessarily mean I'd make more. Any input is appreciated.
