Darwin's theories might not have been complete - or even correct (as much as you can use the term correct about scientifical theories that aren't unequivocally verified) in all areas, but there's an overwhelming amount of evidence to support the theory of evolution.

I just found this quote on Wikipedia as well (certainly not always the most reliable source of information, but this is a direct quote from a book or paper, and is in any case just a general comment or observation):

You did notice that when a woman gets pregnant she doesn't immediately deliver a fully grown human baby now didn't you?

If you look, you'll notice that just after conception it takes NINE MONTHS and multiple transformations from simple celled organism to fish-like, then amphibian, then multiple forms of reptile and mammal before it ends up looking like a human.

Not to be rude to fellow Americans who may be religious, but that pretty much sums up my thoughts on the matter. Evolution is a scientific theory, not something to believe or not believe it, anyway. By its very nature it's open to criticism, but so far, I think it's the most viable explanation as a whole that we have to being here.

And btw, I know a lot of very religious Jewish people who have no problem with the theory of evolution. They just don't take the bible very literally, and instead focus on what they see as its spiritual meaning. It's a spiritual guide for them, not a history book. Some of our leading scientists in Israel, biologists, doctors and physicists are religious, as a matter of fact.

Amen. Far to many Christians take the Old Testament as literal fact when it comes to Genesis. I'm sure a lot has been lost in translation and understanding of original meaning. What is written is more on a mythological level than fact and many of these myths are found in the older Sumerian beliefs about creation, which were incorporated into the Bible.

Wow, DNA precoded by someone. Let me ask some of the tens of thousands of medical professionals and scientists who've looked at our DNA..

Oh, I just got an answer back. There's no copyright or trademark notice on any of the sugars in the DNA nor RNA. Maybe because Mother Nature doesn't sign her work, it usually turns out how she intended.
