Programmers and Flash gurus - In here pleeease?

I'm trying to find decent tutorials or some form of interactive training as to learning PHP and also Flash to some degree. It's my wish to take my designing to the next level and that is where my knowledge stumbles. I can customize php scripts, I can play with existing flash files, but my goal is to learn these things rock solid. I can't afford a school/courses, etc etc blah blah. So, for you designers here who know the whole shebang, how did you learn it, are you self taught? if so how long did it take you to learn it. Do you know of any available resources, recommended tutorials, etc. And when it comes to things like designing a fully programmed paysite, sponsor site, etc ... just how much of that knowledge do you use? Be it php or flash?

Thanks in advance if anybody can advise!

I can tell you as someone who has dabbled in PHP and written some small scripts. If you are seriously wanting to learn programming forget about flash for a bit. You will need to take one step at a time. Most of the better PHP guys i have known all went to school to learn the more advance stuff. You also will want to learn Java and PHP since PHP on its own is very limited. Also since flash can make use of use of active scripting the java stuff will come in very handy.

Varzi thank you for that info and the good advice. I agree yeah one at a time for sure. That's a great link. I kinda learn easier anyway from hands-on doing so this is a terrific resource.
