How well do peel ads work for you?

Feels like everybody is asking for them, and we do have some now. Have they been working for you or do people want them because they are trendy at the moment?

I was making about $50 a month (on a good month lol) with one well known site with a small banner in my sidebar...

I popped one of their peel ads up across a dozen blogs and made $120 in a fortnight...

So I like them - the Fling ones didn't do much though

I love the totem one! and make bank on it, the fling one though doesnt seem to do much.

I cannot figure out how to use openx to track them so I cannot be sure of impressions and clicks. (well I could get complex and compare my openx to totem stats - but just realized that)...

Like any other ad mechanism I personally think when they are used correctly it enhances a site -when part of a banner farm site they just get lost in clutter.

Well, they tend to make it hard to click on links in the upper right portion of the page......which is why I took most of mine down.

You actually had links within an inch of the extreme top corner of your site? Sounds strange to me but if they weren't that close then the peel ad wouldn't interfere since it is only activated if someone mouses within an inch of so of the top corner of the page.

I was marketing a peel away ad script for a while and they seemed to do very well but now that everyone is using them they are becoming less effective and sooner or later they'll be as worthless as a typical 468x60 banner.

What I found was that using the same technology but using it for odd sized banners on the page is far more effective since it's not stuck out of the way where most people don't look in the first place and have to go out of their way to click on. Rather than naving a peel away corner you can use flash to create a similar effect for any banner. When someone mouses over the banner a larger ads slides out.

I don't how well they perform but they're god damn annoying. I won't stay on a site if they have a peel ad on.

I love them. I have only just using Maxcash ones so won't know how well they do for a few weeks, when I get them up on my sites.

I have a celebrity blog and one of the celebrity sites did a peel ad for me and my conversion ratio was 1:68 and on a site that gets hundreds of clicks a day it was converting very well, although I don't currently use it as I found a geo targetted hosted banner that converts better lol.

On my sites rather than blogs peel ads general do well for me, I have just not tried on blogs till recently because I didn't notice you can add them to templates and didn't like half the sites that did the peel ads, and I like to add a peel ad to a template on wordpress mu so they appear on all my blogs at once.

I need a decent gay peel ad from maxcash and I would could convert that very well hint hint lol

They are on the way for all the sites including the gay ones but we rushed out the Paris ones because of the promo.

Yes, on my blog directories the submit link is too close to the peel ad. Since I really do want submissions, lol........
