Looks like I'm going to be stuck here for awhile

My financial situation looks bleak for this month. I guess I'm going to be stuck here in Florida for awhile. I discussed our situation with my mom and she now sees that we cannot move back home and I can't move or stay here by myself without jeopordizing her because her income is very limited. I hope I can find the energy and time to build some new sites that will put me back in the red.

Mike, have you thought about getting an offline job? I mean, you've got to be able to find one that pays more than what you're making as an awm, making your webmastering income icing on the cake.

He could also get cheaper living since the beach side is trash and yet more expensive. I get the feeling he really just wants a reason for people to feel sorry for him.

No, I make enough to support myself but I'm supporting two other people and that's the problem.

Our apartment is only $500 a month and not that bad. Most of the places nearby are much more expensive.

How can you even pretend it's not to be that bad when you had to sand the bathtub?

Like i said Daytona is not the cheapest or one of the better areas in central Florida. If you like to be on the beach where low wage labor is abundant then more power to you. Where you live will be a deciding factor of an employer giving you a job and how much they offer to pay you. Very few people who are not prostitutes or drug addicts would want to live there even if it's cheap. You can even rent a house these days for about $650 per month because people cant find enough renters.

But lets not pretend there is no work to be had when you have stores and restaurants on every corner. I came up here from Ft Lauderdale and got a part time job in less then a week. Finding a full time career might be a tad difficult with the economy but part time jobs are everywhere. If do get a job there you will find the wages also reflect the type of people who live in that area. I can also fully understand why your mother is unhappy with her living conditions.

I wouldn't say the area is that bad and where I live isn't that bad. I'm only a few blocks from the Hilton.

I'm still pulling in about 1k a month. I just need to try new things. I'm not in any danger of losing anything. I still have steady income. I'm just going to have find new ways of generating traffic that will convert

hm, I don't know about this. While $1k/month is great for some third world countries, I can't imagine how someone can live on that money in North America. This is why all third-world webmasters have such a huge cost advantage over those of us in NA. Here in Canada $5k/month (pre-tax) will get you a reasonable standard of living, while the same amount of money would go 2-3 times further in Eastern Europe or India.

Wait, wait, wait. After all your endless posts and brags about 3000 SE hits a day, 200+ Thumblogger blogs, other blogs with 20,000 backlinks -- you make $1k a month. A MONTH????? That's one signup a day on average.

Mike, I said this in another post, you REALLY need to either change niches, change from doing free blogs and splogs, stop keyword stuffing and change your entire game plan. Lately all you've done is post how you're doing so poorly, even saying you made $10 in a day.

You don't need a lecture, but you need to set up long-term income. I will tell you this -- with one of my VOD sponsors I make a minimum of 3 figures a day. I do NOTHING. I have links out there and people sign up and keep coming back for the content. Again and again and again. I don't have to review anything, I don't have to pay a writer, I don't have to submit. I simply set this up years ago and now enjoy the fruits of my labor. And now that's how I think when I put up new sites -- how can I simplify this to produce long-term income without much effort.

You seem to be living in a bad area, you are unhappy living with your sick mom and her abusive boyfriend AND supporting them. YOU need to make some serious changes and that does not mean moving to a foreign country to save a few hundred bucks a month.

You need to rethink this entire adult industry job and your future, because like the rest of us, you aren't getting any younger. The US is in a recession and prices will keep going up and up. Traffic is harder to capture and keep, sales are harder to capture and keep, etc.

I think Varzi is right as lately your posts all seem to be "oh, woe is me, feel bad for me" but I don't see YOU trying to change anything.

Yes, this is harsh and blunt, but moving to another country will lower your monthly expenses but will it lower or raise your standard of living?

Hey Pam no disrespect but I think you're one of those with plenty of huge, aged sites feeding off one another so it may be unfair to think everyone can achieve that. But I agree there should at least be some kind of growth if enough effort is invested and some planning is done.

I don't have many "huge" sites. One is huge, the rest are all small. Anyone can build sites to feed off one another, it's not unique at all.

Age means nothing. I have sites back to 1998 that have zero page rank and are on page 39457575 in Google
