Wanktube needs you

We just upgraded our server dramatically to allow for growth, and already seeing some great improvements in speed, uptime and uploads.

What we need is a few people willing to upload some larger videos to really test things out. What we are looking for are 4-10 minute videos, over 8mb in size. To make it more attractive we will keep a look out and will feature as many of them as possible in our featured section so you get more traffic back

Rules :

Your content, or content you have the rights to post.
One watermark only, and not through the middle of the video.
No illegal stuff of course
Please dont post 15 mins of hardcore .. that just screws up the quality of the traffic for everyone. Use your brain


Also for regular submitters we are going to start getting rid of all videos under 30 seconds or with excessive watermarks and spam.

Would love to hear about any issues uploading vids so we can iron out any problems, but so far things are looking good !

There is no argument that smaller clips and less free porn produce more sales, but thats not today's environment. We have a pretty ok balance on wanktube and dont have the 20-30 mins clips full of hardcore most of the other tube sites seem to be filled with.

Its a happy medium, and we have better quality traffic than the big guys by a long shot because of it.

Can't help you LB if you're only looking for 4-8 minute clips. I think that's the exact opposite of what any smart sponsor wants to provide. Those longer clips may drive traffic to you, but it won't drive traffic to us, so why should we bother.

Sounds to me like what you really want to do is license some longer clips and just put ads on those pages. Allow shorter 1-3 minute clips from sponsors who aren't interested in giving away the cow with the milk.

Thats cool guys You don't *have* to submit, just putting it out there for people willing to submit for the free traffic.

We are one of the last remaining webmaster friendly tubes, definitely one of the few who give you the chance to put up a link, but to stay competitive and grow our traffic we need to be able to compete with the others and at least offer longer clips if not going the full 10 yards and throwing out 20 mins of hardcore.

We allow anything over 30 seconds, but to test things out on the new setup we wanted some longer clips uploaded, hence this thread.

I'm not sure longer videos is the way to compete or even if it's necessary. It may be the common belief that the biggest tubes got big because of long videos, but I don't think it's true.

A bulk of most tube sites, even the shady ones, is made up of short porn. Some of the highest rated clips on many tubes are pretty short videos. They're special or unique in some way; sometimes long = boring.

Notice the one thing about the popular tube sites and they are all searchable, and those with channel niches allow you to view multiple pages going back. Your script doesn't do this I believe this will greatly hinder your traffic. Pick the Voyeur channel for example. All you get are the top posters and vids, and no (obvious) way to look at others.

As far as I'm concerned, if this is the niche I'm interested in on your tube, I only have a dozen or so to choose from, even though there might be hundreds on the site. And many of those I can see in the channel page are fairly static as they don't change much over time.

You're also leaking your own traffic something terrible by not opening other sites in a new window.

So in short I think you're going down the wrong tube in your search for traffic building and retention.

I've gotten to the point that I hate tubes and to fight against them I've been spamming them with as many under 60 second clips as I can find from sponsors that will allow it.

Like LB said, they allow everything over 30 seconds so upload your videos if you want some free traffic

OK, honest question here:
_LB_ I do not understand how this advertising model works. If the surfers have 4-10 minute length videos to watch, what incentive do they have to sign up to a paysite? I would think it would take a surfer no more than 45 seconds to determine if a clip is interesting or not, but if there are much longer clips, why would a surfer pay for porn when they can just wait for it to be posted on a tube site?

I can understand it probably draws traffic, but what quality is this traffic? I figure you would have already sold them on any email porn possible, so what is left for them to buy?

I am not trying to be a smartasss here; I just really REALLY don 't understand this tube thing at all.

Hell in a perfect world all tubes would have a max of 30 second clips.

Unfortunately mate its not a perfect world, and you have to compete in the market which actually exists.

I could help if the videos didn't have to be so lengthy, 1-3 minutes is long enough for any tube site video but that's just my opinion, 4-10 minutes is like practically giving the farm away and why the hell would anyone want to do that, just my 2 cents.
