The Tesla Roadster use customary LI cells (450 kg). The manufacturer
guarantees 160.000 km til capacity drops to 80%, so lifetime of the batteries won't be the big problem. The problem i see - if electric cars would become popular - is the resulting demand on electricity that has to be produced somehow. Of course every vehicle owner having some solar pannels in his garden would be a great thing but hard to realize in areas of high population density. Not to mention that the oil and electricity industrie would really hat that scenario ![]() __________________
