I need fast setup and a fair price - 10Mbs with ez upgrade path if needed.

I may consider VPS as long as the host doesn't start bitching because I use WordPress or any silly crap like that.

Dear god - there are some crappy services out there.....

Here are a few classics -

A VPS that only gives you 1 IP and NO name server..... "You set the name servers yourself" according to the sales team.

Another with 80 GBs of HD but 15GB of bandwidth - you would have 65 gigs of overage just uploading content to the server!

To be doing business with a company who charges you for your own uploading, one might wonder what you are smoking?

I cannot speak for all, but most reputable companies do not charge you for your uploads. The 15GB is strictly web traffic to your site(s), which I agree is not much .... but for some people without alot of traffic, this is all they need, and don't have to pay for bandwidth they will not use.

I can offer you several VPS options ... my entry level VPS is $39.95 per month and includes 8000MB of diskspace, 300GB of transfer, 256MB of dedicated RAM, your own OS (Red Hat Linux or FreeBSD), DirectAdmin full control panel, 1 IP address (additional IPs available @ $2.00 each), your own Apache, PHP, SQL, Exim, Dovecot, etc ... all the security of a dedicated server ...
