Many leave the biz each year when they find out they wont be making millions while watching TV. Then fresh faces show up and the process starts all over again. As time goes on the traffic to various boards shift to what is known as FOTM or Flavor of the Month.

I would say GFY started the whole paid posting gimmick which was all most cared about in the beginning. Then other boards soon after started to follow the trend offering branded items and money hoping to gain more members. But once everyone had posting deals it came down to the community being what was most valuable overall. The communities on some boards is pretty shark infested and not very newbie oriented or friendly to outsiders. What makes a good community IMHO is one that is accepting of newbies and tolerates the same questions being asked time and time again. When people learn how to make money on Netpond or any other board it creates a bond that is going to be much harder to break.

Yea ive noticed a slowdown on the board. Maybe during the school year its better, kids at college have more time and in the Summer they get Internships and whatnot.
