Printer Question
I know a little off topic but I need a new printer badly. My last one decided to stop working. Which, may not be a bad thing because the ink prices killed me. Anyone know where I can find some website that will let me compare prices per page or something like that.

I have a lazer printer, the main reason is the ink is dry, and i dont have to worry about the little small cartrages, that cost you an arm and a leg, i can get recycled refills for around $50 and print abought 3000 pages.. i have had it for about a year, never filled it with ink, and i can use it today and it prints just like the day i bought it. its only black, i dont need color, i dont really need a printer.. but have one just so if i have to print something i can..

I've always used HP. I'm on my 2nd one in the last 10 years.
The only reason I bought the newer one was because the software needed by the older one wasn't supported by 2000. The are a very good printer. |

my first printer is an hp deskjet.. ive bought that like in '98 but it still works up until now.. I was able to print a whole book for my thesis like three hundred pages with hgh-res graphics.. using that hp deskjet.. the downside though is the ink cost a bit much that is if you won't use an ink refill.. i don't use ink refills for my printer coz it can cause damage to my printer.. |

all the price/page comparisons are to be taken with a grain of salt. what do they calculate for the ink/toner? usually regular street price, which you can easily outrank by finding a discount shop online (worst case eBay will show enough) or near you.
Samsung does neat 600x600dpi b/w laser printers that start for around 70 EUR plus taxes - for that price you even have to consider not getting a toner when it's empty but a new printer. Brother b/w laser join the market for around 90 EUR plus taxes. for under 250 EUR plus taxes you get nice colour laser printers (Samsung, Canon, Konica). and those will not dry out like ink ones do, if you do not print for a few weeks (and holidays will come around again) with laser printers and faxes i use no-name toner cartridges without any hassle. ink always seem to mess up and get the colours wrong with cloned products. |
