Embedding Video

Currently I use Windows Media Player to embed vids in my members area. I do not like flash nor want to use it on my site, but I know some people can not see my videos when they are in wmp formats. Any ideas on how to not make my vids downloadable but play universially without flash?

I do note this might be impossible.

No I know how to embed I am wondering what is the best format for 20 + minute movies. I know how to its just I want the best way for viewers to watch without flash or downloading.

oh you can usually find the codes to embed the files easily I was just wondering that besides flash what is the best way to deliver video with no downloads.

Ok once again I KNOW THE CODE to embed. The advice I am seeking on the best media players to use for playing streaming video, SANS flash. Also I do not want the option of download!

i havent found any formats that stream nearly as well as flash, maybe divx? But thats just another plug in that people would need to dl.

Why the animosity towards Flash?

There are some really rather good video to swf convertors that are either free or really cheap out there - you don't need to know flash, the software does it all for you and just bangs out the swf's (and the embed code to) ready to upload.

I just been converting a batch of videos into flash and the file size halved!

I got myself a free version, but it looks like the download version is quite cheap, and believe me it gives you a lot of control. I think they do a trial version if you want to play.

Yea,
all you need is a free converter and your pretty much good to go. Embedding takes all of 5 minutes to figure out. You just need a tiny little player like http://www.jeroenwijering.com/?item=JW_Media_Player and should be good to go. They also have a wizard on their site to create the embed code.

I have adobe cs3 flash i don't need a converter i am just strange and as a personal preference do not wish to do it but looks like i must

Yeah I have Flash Professional 8, but nothing works like the convertors! Anything else is overkill.

the conversion isnt what keeps me from liking flash, i just dont like flash. strange yes true yes but its me
