where the hell is my lighter?

Greetings & Salutations...
Hey everyone,
Well, I guess I'll jump right in and tell my story thus far and then I'll get to the asking for advice since I'm new to the scene... My boyfriend and I were shooting the shit one day not long ago, and we started talking about making amateur porn. He downloaded an e-book called "Adult Movie Producers Little Black Book". It was well worth the $15 he spent on it, as it's definitely a plethora of information. It didn't have much information about being the stars of your films, but it served as a good inspiration. At the end of October, I started making PG rated smoking fetish videos and uploading them to YouTube. The response was very good, so I opened up a clips4sale page, and my own website . My website basically serves as a promotional tool, it's not a paysite, it just directs visitors to where they can find me on the web. I plan on doing a complete revamp of the site, and creating a members area in the very near future. I have been pretty lucky so far, in that I've made some good contacts, good friends, and some very nice fans. I'm very grass roots in my marketing techniques - I'm not afraid to jump on Yahoo Messenger and talk to people who are interested in my work. I've got a profile on damn near every social networking site that is adult friendly. And I have actually made some money. Not much, but it's a start - I didn't expect to make jack shit for at least 6 months, so I can't complain! I have had a couple of requests to buy my content, but I am weary about it at the moment. I don't have a license written up, and I have no idea what a fair price is to charge. So, I guess that's what I want to know... What is a fair price to charge people who want to buy my content on a non-exclusive basis? Should I even bother? Is it smarter for me in the long run to keep it to myself and market it on my own so that there's no issues with over-saturation? haha, what's up, n00b? :P Anyway, thanks for reading, and thanks for this great forum, I'm learning a lot by lurking about. I appreciate that there's so many webmasters out there who are willing to lend their expertise. XO Cherry |

Welcome to Netpond.
How do you get on with 420girls. I used to promote them a few years ago, and I even reg'd the name 420s.com. They had a load of problems, and I lost track of things. Are they doing well at the moment? __________________

![]() 420girls... I just don't know. I haven't seen any traffic or affiliate benefits coming from them, but I like their site, so I don't mind linking it. However, I think I'm going to remove that honking logo from my front page and just leave their banner on my links page. |

It might be worth thinking about the se submission link as well. Many people seem to thing se submissions are a bad thing. My personal view is that a search box is the best form of submission.

I would do something about the left side links. They are hard to notice because of the background color. you might try adding some kind of attention logo to each one so the surfer sees them more. That's just my opinion. I have a hard time seeing black links unless the background is white.

Howdy folks... dropped off the face of the net for a while while I worked on my website and did the holiday thing. Hope all of you had a good time!
I did the revamp of my website and implemented a members only area. I should mention that I've worked on a few websites before but this was the biggest project I've done, so be gentle! I think it looks pretty good and it's user-friendly. http://www.smokincherrybomb.com I'd like to start getting more into link exchanges and affiliate programs, but I'm curious about locations of reciprocal links. Is it ok to put them on a links page, or is it better to put them elsewhere? |

http://netpond.com/showthread.php?t=125426 Basically, if you have affiliates, and you start putting links on your site and its tours, then you are screwing your affiliates. __________________

hey cherry bomb
I think if you are confident in your marketing abilities you should keep it to yourself and atleast give it some time before making a decision.. once you sell rights you can't go back welcome to the pond by the way ![]() __________________
