How much can a cam girl make?

I think that a hot webcam model with a skilled webmaster in the background can make much more working on her own site than working for any webmcam platform. Just my 2 cents. In my opinion it can be $10k/month without any problem.

I agree, but at the same time, you will have to have a lot of startup for that. Most "Shared" servers don't allow for live streaming video, so it will have to be dedicated. and GOOD dedicated hosting doesn't come cheap.
Plus, you would have to make sure you have someone on hand who knows more about live streaming video than yourself, in case you get into a snag.

Totally agreed. Like I mentioned - a skilled webmaster in the background is a must in such option. If he's skilled & experienced he surely operates on dedicated servers, he has a lot of sites/traffic plus he's a member of the biggest adult oriented boards where he can establish some biz relationships with other webmasters about promoting a webcam girl / site. An experienced webmaster also knows where to go for the paid advertising, and how to put the models' site into some "decent" positions in SEs. Working for any webcam platform won't make you a bank + they can use all the content (pics, videos, recorded sessions, everything) however and whenever they want. Maybe it's a good idea for the beginning, to earn some money and gain some experience but if any girl is serious about the adult webcam performance in a long term - in my opinion only own site is a good way to go... Another 2 cents from me.

yep<exactly what I'm saying. It is possible to make 10k a month but you must be really hot or very niche and be willing to use your mind. If you know a little bit about the webmaster side of thing or have a good webmaster helping you the sky is the limit. Gothic and punk type girls have it made because there are few out there willing to do cam shows but if know what their doing they can do well.

the problem is finding a girl that is both beautiful ad smart to work with. Most of them are in pvt all the time so talking to them and convincing them to work with you is hard.

Sin doesnt make 10k every month but she has made the much before. I wouldn't be surprised if she has had a better month this year as she has more fans now.

You do have an advantage working a bigger site but only if you are very hot and are willing to work on converting your cam hits. Most of the guys that visit the big sites will end up hitting your cam at least once but if they come in your room and you are staring at the wall they are not going to come back. You really need to be an entertainer when you are a cam girl to pull in big bucks.

Well, when you have a girl that has over 300 fan club member that get a %20 off show from that you can see how pvts will add up when a girl can have twenty to 50 guys in her private room at once. some sites don't have that feature but the ones that do can really increase your sales.

I have a few friends that are cam girls. I meant to say that the average is that if you are extremely hot or are very niche specific but not for the average looking girl.

The girls I know are streamray girls and the payscale is different. You can't make that on most sites because you can only charge $1.99 a minute and expect to get pvts. From what I've seen a lot of sites don't even allow you to charge more or the girls never set their fee that high.

I see dozens of girls on streamray that have over 100 fan club members and some have over 500. If you work full time it is not hard if you have the look.

Hey Cherrylynn I took a look at your page and I'm a bit confused it looks like you are doing both Dom and regular camming. If I could make a suggestion, (and someone who does dom correct me please if I am wrong) but dont people who normally go looking for a dom only want them to be a Dom and not doing regular cam shows? I would image it takes away from the allure of being a Dom.

What a lot of girls do on our system is create two accounts. One for when they are working Dom and one for when they are just logging on as a regular cam girl. I would suggest doing that as well as having two separate blogs; one for your dom site and one for your regular site. This would allow you to target different types of traffic.

I would also suggest setting up your own domain names with blogs on them, one for your dom side and one for your regular side. Go to whatever cam site you are working and sign up for their affiliate program and send in your own traffic to yourself (if you aren't doing that already)

Yes, but if you are talking about a cam program that has the nude show option as well as the private show, that is when the money goes up. The surfer gets a discount for these shows but does not get to control them the way he does in pvt, the way some girls work it doesn't matter anyway because they never listen to what you say in the private room. a lot of them will just start masturbating or having sex even if that's not what you want.

In a cam system where multiple guys can be in a room and pay $3.50 a minute you could have over 20 guys in there.

The title of this thread was "How much can a cam girl make", not what is the average, so I answered it that way. If you go with a fanclub model like streamray does the possibilities are endless. I don't see any other cam service doing this. I have seen really hot girls with close to 600 members and they don't even get on 7 days a week. the girls only get $2.50 a month from each fan but these are guys that will come back and get pvt or even better, nude chat. so imagine you only get 20 guys in your room at $3.50 a minute and I think streamray gives %40 to models plus bonuses. 3.50 x 20 is $70 a minute and your cut would be $28 a minute.

Of course these are girls in the top %1 and I often wondered if this is what keeps streamray running. They have awesome payouts for their models.

I agree with Mike in 100%. It all depends how do you setup your webcam work, if you work for any webcam platform or via your own site, how much time do you spend on cam, and finally how hot you are. Most of the girls on webcam platforms earn $1k-$3k a month. Only a small part of them earn MUCH MUCH more. Fan clubs are present on many platforms Mike, not only the Streamray and YES, they are an excellent money maker in a long run if the girl is working 6 or 7 days a week for long hours. Especially that the members of the fanclubs are paying for the whole "on demand stuff". They usually don't spare on this, if they get what they want - they are ready to pay a really nice $.

For all these (and a few other) reasons I claim that every serious webcam model should have her own website and a skilled webmaster in the background. It doesn't mean that she has to resign from the work on her favourite webcam site where she has a fanclub or 1000 regulars for example but opening her own website and good promotion of it will boost the earnings to the roof. That's for sure...
