Image size in posts
I'm wondering if anyone has experimented with different sized images on their blogs and can give me some advice about what size thumbs/images work best with regard to sales.
Resizing to 300x451 seems to maintain quality and keeps the images around 40kb. I was thinking about having the image link to an html page with a larger photo (around 399x600), but am afraid that the bandwidth would be outrageous at around 60kb per image. I like the idea of having each pic on its own page for SE and advertising purposes, but am not sure if this would be advisable or even effective for blogs. If anyone has any tips or suggestions, I'm be most grateful! ![]() |

At a buck a gig I don't even bother with thumbs. I hate the damn things. I resize the image to fit my theme and go with it.

Thumbs
Thanks to everyone who took the time to reply to my question!
For those of you who use thumbs instead of larger images in your blog posts, do you link the thumb to the sponsor or to a gallery? Or do you just link it to the full sized pic (whether directly or on its own page)? I don't want to link the pics to a gallery, which is why I've been contemplating posting a larger sized image with a link underneath to the sponsor or perhaps a medium sized one that links to a page with the full sized pic and a link to the sponsor. Thanks again for your feedback! ![]() |
