How Many Of You Only Have One Blog?

I keep reading about people having dozens, hundreds, even thousands of blogs and I have always read to be successful in the webmaster business you need one huge site or a huge number of sites. Is the adult webmaster business more skewed towards needing a huge number of sites to succeed? I have run across a lot of mainstream blogs (hollywood gossip especially) that must make the owner a small fortune. I don't believe I've come across the equivalent in the xxx blog world. So, is there anyone on this board making a good living with just one blog?

I have over 30 blogs atm but I'm currently planning to scale back to one blog and work on non-blog projects.

I know there are many who have hundreds of blogs and are successful but the more projects I start the less quality I see in my own work. RSS feeds and blogging software are not for the answer for me.

I think you are going to have to decide which approach works best for you. Only time will tell.

I have about 30 blogs but only one of them is a real blog that I post to and work religously, the rest are feeds and other types of splogs. I have a few more blog related projects that are in the works but when they are completed, I will be spending my time on a non-adult project.

Adult blogging is still in its infancy (for the most part). There are a couple adult blogs that do very well but for the most part the were way on the leading edge of the curve and I personally believe that there is a better way.

In general, I would say that the way to success in adult is to build, build and then build some more but blogs take a lot more time and dedication to do right and having a mix of blogs you are building in hopes of making something special must be mixed in with the splogs.

Bedtime Stories, I've been in the biz for 6 months, I'm in no rush, I have about 35 freesites, a hub and another site i'm just developing.

I have one blog online, I'm almost got my 2nd one done. I'll tell you truthfully for me this blog thing really screwed my mind up, wasn't quite sure what to do as all the blogs i looked at were so different. You don't make them the same way you make a freesite with html.(it's a strange mix)

I looked at different blog software and tried unsuccessfully for 3 weeks before I finally figured out what to do, I started with wordpress, now I just downloaded Thumblogger and Serendipity, oh boy more to learn. At first Doing the blog just frustrated me, but now as I'm starting to get used to it, I'm enjoying the freedom blogging gives me to do what I want, I can have as many links on it as I want, heavenly.

and yes, I wan't to do a tgp, a top list a forum etc etc, but i keep sitting myself down, and say to myself , one step at a time. and try to do the best you can at each step.
I know I'm luckier than a lot of people as I have a guaranteed income as small as it is, I get about 800.00 per month on disability. I can live on that. So I'm under no pressure to get this business going, that's why I can say take it slow. But you also have to take care of yourself too, I've heard of a lot of burnouts.

i have several blogs and recently i started building new ones everyday. I am not making good revenue of them, but i am mainly doing them for testing tactics and techniques and for knowledge expanding, however, every sale is more than welcome

You need both a huge blog and lots of smaller ones. Your big blogs should be the ones you are passionate about and ones that you will keep plugging at everyday. They should be the ones you look at as a hobby as well as a way to make money. Maybe your big blog will actually be your hub.

The big blog becomes your SE monster pulling in huge SE traffic but you might actually make more money off of your smaller blogs, but you can hard link some of those blogs to your big blog and get even more sales and feeder traffic.

I have one blog - http://dogging-info.thumblogger.com I figure that I will play around with it for a little while and see if I can get anything to take off. If I see success from this blog I will then duplicate and mass produce them for the other sites that I promote. At the very least having one blog is a learning opportunity for me.

I have got several blogs and I think having multiple blogs is much more effective than just 1 blog

I've been creating multiple blogs all targeting different microniches, but can't keep up with handwriting all the posts (and can't find enough content for these underpromoted niches) so I think I need to brainstorm a different plan involving the creation of an autoupdated blog network.

My dilemma is that I have little faith in my ability to promote the more popular niches, but I may give it a go anyway simply because I have such a limited amount of time to update my blogs. With the more saturated niches, at least I'll have a good selection of sponsor fhgs to autoupdate them with:-)

yeah, updating 35+ blogs every day is not really doable imo. Just update them 2 or 3 times per week and you will be fine
