In order to show only the post title after the domain, I'm using this "Custom structure":

/%postname%.html

Hope that helps.

Remember that wordpress will try to update htaccess when changing your permalink structure so if it does not work you may have to temporarily lower your htaccess file access permissions to 666 while doing the changes.

well here we go this blog http://real8teens.net/blog gets around 4k se traffic every day cos i changed the permalinks to a custom style... if you want it like this go to options>permalinks> custom> and type > /%postname%/
dont forget to upload an empty .htaccess file to your root before you press update. the .htaccess file must be chmod to 777 .

the word after the domain is the most important keyword. with this changes your writings will be shown like http://www.yoursite.com/yourposttitle/

i would not use long post titles like "nubiles teen gets assfucked" otherwise it looks like that http://www.yoursite.com/nubiles-teen-gets-assfucked/

much more se friendly is a title like "Nubiles Teen" or just "Nubiles" wordpress is changing the url automaticly when you are using the same titles to /nubiles-1/
/nubiles-2/

good luck

/%postname%.html this could be critical when you have a link after the postlink.

example your post is called nubiles and you have another link to your blog on http://www.yoursite.com/nubiles.html. maybe this link is called "teenslut" then wordpress generates it to http://www.yoursite.com/nubiles.html/teenslut/
and it should be a 404.
when you use /%postname%/ it looks like http://www.yoursite.com/nubiles/teen/ which looks better and its much more se friendly then the html ending

Much more seo friendly ? are you sure ? none of the articles I found when I decided to use that structure were saying that ending in html was bad.

Maybe you could point me to another article or it's maybe your personal experience. In any case please share

the .html ending is not bad, but after a lot of changes in the url structure i noticed it works best for me. and a normal url structure should look like yoursite.com/keyword/whatever/ and not yoursite.com/keyword.html ! both works but i dont know what happens when you have another directory after the .html like yoursite.com/keyword.html/anotherdirectory/ looks a bit funny isnt it?...

but anyways both ways are ok. just look that the keyword is near the yourdomain.com
and not at last or an =?19 ending or whatever. whats bad for example is the year/month/day/post structure. the keyword is here at last and when a surfer clicks an archive post and you have your wordpress data in a special blog folder the url looks like yoursite.com/blog/archive/year/month/day/keyword/ and that sucks.

btw. the question about your .htaccess well wordpress is writing the structure to it and when you map it to 666 or 777 wordpress is able to write it how you want. otherwise your new link structure will be a 404

and what the guys on the other threat are writing http://www.netpond.com/showthread.php?t=105917 is bullshit. i can recommend you the threads from thomasbyers i learnd alot from him and he kicked me in my financial independence. never give up try everything, talk to people, ask questions and the most important thing be first with the keyword! read new site announcments, ask affliate managers if they plan a new site, then grab the keyword or the sitename for your blog. 10 beers that you are 1 in google?!
