How many outgoing links per blog
Up until now I didn't really pay attentiont o this - but I've read that it's good for SEO to be picky - anyone have any number they stick to. I know there's not a magic number but I was just curious what everyone's opinion is.

Interesting question, would love to see experts comment on this.
IMHO I think it would be easy to put 1000's of links to get high in SERPs this way creating link spam sites with no actual content, so I'm pretty sure Google doesn't give a crap how many links point out of your site or blog. At least it is logical, since their first and foremost intent is to prevent anyone gaining unfair advantage via use of black tricks like this. |

I would keep it under 100 links, i'm not sure where this number comes from.
But you might want give google a question: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...ks&btnG=Search Feel free to report back your findings ![]() __________________

I limit my hardlinks to 100 i have another list for anything other than that. I limit the hardlinks for those who send me traffic as well as me sending them some if both of us are not benefiting from the link why have it there. I like twan do not know where the magic 100 comes from but it is what i stick to.

I would assume the 100 comes from here http://www.google.com/support/webmas...y?answer=35769 but if I read it correctly it is not 100 outbound links but 100 total links per page

So basically it boils down to: more links won't help in SE rankings, however more quality links, ones that point to relevant content can be very helpful, though after 100 links relevance matters much less.
However, how important is to link to different hosts? I have some of my thumblogger blogs link directly into each other, but they link to very relevant content! |
