Thumbs up for thomas!
That's a really old article, over 1 year old
The section about "The Blog Header" might not be correct when you choose a template without a Wizard, when you choose such a template you will have to manually manipulate the html of the template.
I hope that i can find a bit time to rewrite it a little.

Now that I also started to create blogs on my own hosting, I swear thumblogger service is excellent! Wordpress is far more annoying piece of software to learn.

Yeah, I ended up messing with one the word press derived templates. So you got any documentation on how the boxes deal works? I saw a mention that you can't put Boxes into sidebars that don't exist, and there was some mention of having to convert between TB code and regular html. I am putting together a customized template in there now, and was wondering how you insert boxes into it. Notice some placeholder/token text in the html [box start][box title] [box body],[box end], in the template.

So a quick perusal makes it look like you manage all the box content from the boxes dialog (Which it would appear generates a content list from some includes, and then outputs them in the template where the placeholder/token text is), and don't need to, nor should you, enter any of your box content directly in the template, correct?

That is indeed correct, you shouldn't have to change the [box_start] [box_end] stuff. But you can add extra boxes directly to the template if you need to do that for a certain reason. For example:
Code:
[box_begin]
<h2 class="sidebar-title">[box_title]</h2>
[box_body]
[box_end]

<h2 class="sidebar-title">Look at me</h2>
I'm a extra box which isn't on the Boxes tab!
