Alright a few things:

Here is the html your Thumblogger blog is pushing to browsers that contains your X-Digg code:

[HTML]
<div style="">
<script type="”text/javascript”">submit_url = [post_link];</script>
<script type="”text/javascript”" src="%E2%80%9Dhttp://www.x-digg.com/evb/button.php%E2%80%9D"></script>
</div>
[/HTML]

See how your have those extra slanted quote marks around text/javascript? Those extra slanted quote marks will cause issues.

Another issue you have is that the template slug [post_link] is not being parsed by the Thumblogger template engine. If this template is a wizard-based template, you will not be able to use the X-Digg button without first converting it to what is referred to as the 'HTML' template system. However, if you do that, you will lose the wizard functionality that you currently have with that template. I've asked on Twan's support forum if it were possible to pass the [post_link] slug through the 'wizard' templates, but the general consensus is that it is not technically possible at this time to pass that variable through without first converting the template.

Finally, when you do get the [post_link] slug working, make sure to surround it with regular single quotes, rather than the odd slanted ones. Let me know how your button progresses.

Edit:

It also looks like you have some cruft around the source of the javascript from X-Digg, %E2%80%9, so try removing that too.

X-Digg is designed for any adult oriented topics and subjects - We do not censor language or Topic,(unless it involves CP, rasicsm or promotes violence)- so yes porn has a large growing section of categories. But there is World and Adult Industry News, Ghost / Paranormal areas, Celebrity, Politics, Humor, Sports, Gambling, Moview/DVD reviews and more! We have many requests from people for new categories and areas such as Cigars, Wine, beer making, Vacation Places, etc.

So if you are a webmaster that has a main stream category you need listed or can fill one of the requested categories - just let us know! and as always adult webmasters list away in the adult categories.

Hope this makes sense - working on 1st coffee of the day

Published tab is when a post gets more than "7" votes is becomes published, and moves to the front page. Just need to get some more votes thats all, you have acouple of post that are almost there.

This is why webmaster need to also vote not just post - site interaction is the key for all!

Hope that helps

We welcome a Reader as much as submitters - lol

Rogue -

Well more News gets added in then adult content submissions - the ratio of adult content submission is only about 30% - so I believe that is part of the reason. We don't want it to be just a porn site, either - we seem to draw in many for the news and then the browse the porn sections.

You may or may not realize - I believe the average websurfer on the X-Digg site, goes thru about 50 articles per day? But votes on less the 10. I think the average users click ratio is around 100 clicks per day. So not bad for a site only online since July 1 - at least I am happy with the current #'s - but of course I would love to see them much higher!

Ok, first of all... what we can expect from digging? I mean, what we got if we digg our site/blog. And another question, someone if want to digg my site/blog first need to register on x-digg.com, before digging? I mean how can I convince surfer to digg story on blog if he need to register first...

Well I guess those are very good questions that many webmasters might not fully understand.
"what we can expect from digging?" : SEO, back links, pingbacks and general Traffic from our readers (our average users browse nearly 100 posts per visit) - same as what you will acquire from DIGG or any good social bookmarking site.

"I mean how can I convince surfer to digg story on blog if he need to register first.." : Answer to this is not as easy - the basic industry standard is to have a user register to submit any material / urls to social bookmarking sites. This stop SPAM to some extend, gives us a User and IP if needed to Ban, or turn over if they submit illegal junk like CP, etc. Also gives sites dealing with adult materials a way to verify users is over 18+ years old. While we do not require a reader to register to browse, it is required to submit and vote. In short that is just way things like that are done - same as posting to any forums - a user needs to register due to COPA regulations.

I hope this helps to answer your questions a little bit...?

Hi,

First off, congratulations on the new site. I like it. Here are my first thoughts after signing up this morning and submitting a site...

1. When I click the "Who Voted" tab on a story page it's blank. I tried it in IE and FireFox to no avail. I didn't check the source code to see if it's a DHTML issue or whether the list of voters simply isn't generated server-side, but you might want to check it if you're not aware of it already.

2. The adbrite keyword link ads: In Mozilla FireFox I get about a 5 - 8 second delay before any links are clickable. I assume this is the time it takes for the adbrite code to parse the page and add it's links to the chosen keywords for that page.

Also, besides the delay (which doesn't seem to be as bad in IE, oddly enough), there is no delay when your mouse moves over one of those links... This doesn't seem like much, but when I was submitting a site my mouse was moving over these keyword popup things and it was getting a little annoying.

I would either set that keyword popup delay to a second or two before it pops up or maybe remove it from the submit page. Not sure how much adbrite pays for those keyword popups or if it's per click or impression, etc, but if you're making a ton of money with those then nevermind. If you're not then I would think about making them slightly less intrusive.

Anyway, that's all. I like the site and these things a pretty much nit picky, but I thought I would bring them up. I'll be submitting whenever I have new story links. Thanks for the new service!

Thanks I am glad you enjoyed the Site !! :-)

As to your Questions - Thank you! -

1) I had no knowledge of a problem, but have sent a copy of this post to my two tech to check things out! So thank you!

2) Adbrite is gonna go ! as well as netpond ads - we will be running our own ad server stating sometime this week! We began running and seling our own advertising space a while back and it just makes more sense. We were running and playing with Adbrite and Netpond ads, more to fill the spaces as we developed the site. While Adbrite is actually a good steady money maker, they are just not the way we wish to go. So that issue should be gone in the next few days as they finish the new ad server setup.

And please always feel free to discuss any ideas - many great ideas come from you the users of any site.

Thanks for responding. I'm glad I could help. I will definitely let you know when I think of anything that may be useful to add.

I think the only thing I would consider changing or modifying at this point would be the second row category navigation bar format. The links to the categories are run together and are not underlined, so it's not immediately apparent that they are links.

Also, some of the category titles are so close together that it's hard to tell them apart from each other at first glance (like: Political Videos... is it "Political Videos" or "Political" / "Videos" or "Off Beat Political Videos"?). I would just add some space between them like you have in the top nav bar or add a delimiter like a slash / or a pipe |.

Again, not a huge deal and I realize that these things get pushed to the side while you're launching and building out the site. But in terms of bang-for-your-buck, I would imagine that would increase pageviews and encourage more category browsing from your average non-tech savvy visitor.

Yeah the end of summer is here and now dealing with everyone and vacation issues, so some cleanup needs to be done, while I have done a bunch of coding on the site and amd working on the new video Mod, I also am running 4 other business, and with Thomas Byers out as my affiliate manager, at the moment, things are just a little behind. But not to worry - we will have things cleaned up soon - Like you said sometimes its the little things that get overlooked while larger issues are dealt with.

I will have a sit down after labor day (and Canadians love there labor day - maybe more than Americans - lol) and get some of these "cleanup issues" done, cause in all honesty they should not take to long.

I just wanted to ask - after trying and adding the code to my thumblogger site I get the x-digg code displayed on every log entry. Can we limit this to one the ones that I post or not? If not then I do understand why you have done this but I thought I would ask.

Sorry, I am puzzled by your question, the code places the voting button on every post, so people may vote and submit your articles to X-Digg if they like them. This is the standard way of doing things, so you have a better chance of getting your posts submitted / circulated to the rest of the net. That is the purpose of a Social Bookmarking site?

If you only wish to submit one or two post(s) you can always do so manually?

I apologize if I am not understanding the question fully.
