He's selling at the price he wants and he has all rights to ask the price he wants, and do not forget that you get a domain name with the blog......if someone would have come with that domain alone for $75, there would be less bitching.....

True, I offered him what I thought it was worth, particularly because I'm not so interested in this niche. $75 for just a free template design, 5 posts and submits to 15 directories is a bit too much IMO.

Why some see him selling blog as an insult is a complete mystery to me

u guys missed the point, all the hoo-ha in this thread is because of the bolded line, and basically what we are saying is $75 is simply a bad deal for it, what his saying is its a good deal for newbies..thats what all the hoo ha is about

i think my point is also newbies need to be helped to learn the business, and nobody i ever got help from helped me and charged me for it. If you are going to be in this business u certainly need to know how to make your own blogs. I do not know any successful webmasters that are in business and buy their blogs

i think the spirit of this board , that lured me here when I was new, is .......sharing information, helping each other....................

mow its true that some webmasters never catch any flack for charging for stuff, example Katusan, who writes these massive programs unique to blogging and webmastering, that are extremely complex and helpful and well worth the cost. I think that what grated on a few webmasters in this case , is charging 75 bucks for a blog to us that is not only high, but way high. I guess we are all entitled to our opinion also. The guy did say he sold the blog though, so obviously in this case our opinion did not seem to hurt things, in fact he thanked me for bumping his thread.

but we are entitled to express our opinion though;. Thank god the board is not full of paranoid censors

I'm sorry but I have to agree with StoneHammer on this. It does seem like there have been one to many deals going around to "help the newbie". In many ways I am still a newbie when it comes to being a webmaster so I understand the feeling of "paying more for something you shouldn't but didn't know better". Been there, done that. As for blogs; all I can say is they are not that hard to make. Any newbie or old timer should be able to make a blog. Lots of places to get "how to info", step by step how to, just do your homework, it's out there.Heck go over to youtube and put in "wordpress" and see how much info you find. At any rate good luck to all that are wanting to give blogging a try, and just know you can make them all by yourself for free!

We like people and look out for each each other. This is why people are advicing against buying your blog at that price. It has been repeated over and over why it's not worth it.

But if you want, I can summarize the worth.

The domain isn't anything special. It's a regfee domain.
$10 domain
$35 for making the blog (by another member, jace who has a post on the blog forum)

So that's $45 for the exact same thing.

And to add too it, 95% can create their own wordpress blog, like this one in less than an hour. And if they can't, they should prioritize learning to do it instead of buying it. Specially if they're noobs, since they probably wouldn't be making more doing something else.

No one has said your blog looks bad or anything. Only tried to keep people from making a bad deal with you.

I have to say I agree with others. For a new blog with no traffic or sales stats and a domain reg'd a month ago $75 is too much.

The "useful for a newbie who doesnt know how to do it themselves" angle doesn't really cut it either. If someone were to buy it they'd have to deal with a domain transfer, a db import and have to install the theme and wp in any case. That takes more knowledge and time than just setting up something similar in the first place.

That said, it is a nice looking blog (although it doesn't seem to render correctly in IE7). I wonder why you would want to sell it anyway instead of keeping it and promoting it yourself?

Exactly. These people are acting as if he is trying to rip people off or something which I don't believe to be the case. Just because people can do something for free doesn't mean they want to. I see people selling domains for $100 all of the time when I wouldn't pay reg fee for it. Why don't you piss in their threads too while you're at it? Just because it's not worth it to me doesn't mean it's not worth it to someone else. Maybe someone wants sites that are already indexed in SE's and have a couple of months of activity under their belts. In my experience, blogs hit a SE upswing around month six. Maybe that is worth an extra $20 to someone.

I don't know BCyber other than seeing him around the boards so I'm not here to defend a buddy or anything like that. I just think that the way this blog sale was thread jacked is completely unprofessional. You have implied that BCyber is trying to 'get one over' on noobs which in turn questions his integrity. I'd be pissed if I were him. I'm all for watching out for people (which I suppose is why I'm defending BCyber from this nonsense) and I hate scammers with a passion, but this is just stupid. You guys need to get a life.

I agree too expensive but then the best way to learn is from mistakes. The seller did say $75.00 or best offer so only a foolish man would rush in with a full price offer... Worse than this (IMHO) are those that advertise to install wordpress blogs for you (with a few trimmings) for X$... So many hosts have one click installs and even if they don't, it really is simple to install a blog in a couple of minutes.

Sensible 'newbies' would ask open questions and scan the boards for a few weeks picking out those that are helpful and those that want to make a quick few $'s

While everyone's out here hating I'd say there isn't a thing wrong with selling that site for $75. . . if you did a nickles worth of SEO on that blog. A newbie would benefit greatly from paying $75 bucks for a pre made site with some solid keyword research. . . competition analysis, density, etc. . . . .that would be a steal. And that doesn't really take all that much time to do. . ..

unfortunately this site didn't do that. It did about as much as my post does for hitting the keyword hate!But I'd like to thank this post for offering up a nice area of keyword research for me for free. . .

The price is always a question for the buyer... why are you calling others scammers or accusing them when you never dealt with them? You re so full of shit. If u dont like the price, don't buy. Simple rule. It is a business. When you go to supermarket, do you argue about prices? I would love to see that.

It may not be good deal for you, but maybe somebody else could be interested. If you had a better deal, you could've post it in the thread. You didn't, only bashed the seller.

Right now I am selling a domain with no content for 4900 euro... does that make me a scammer? It just means many people can't afford or don't want to buy it from me, but there may be some that are interested. You can laugh if you want, doesn't change the price.

When you are trying to imply that domain is worth reg. fee and nothing more thats just plain nonsense. The same goes for the work people put into making the site/installing script. Not everyone has your brilliant skills and some people want to pay for such services.

Warez shit and stealing is different story and is dealt with on Netpond and there is no neccessity of making a thread about it.
