personally i think google analytics are enough, and there are loads of good plugins for it

Running 2 blogs on WP 2.5 and both have WP-Shortsat running with no problems.

One little remarks on stats: I tried sextracker, statcounter and some other
counters and compared their results with each other and cross-checked

) won't be counted.

L10 hit counter installed on one domain, i put the code on all my blogs, then I can see a total traffic amount across everything

I also use cnstats for each domain, it is the most detailed when it comes to search engine results

If you want to get the stats from the network, yes. For separate blog in that network maybe you should use new site thing
