So i gotta gay blog

Hey there, i a gay blog ive worked on for over 6 months and im really getting LOTS of traffic, in recent months my traffic doubles every month so it seems, i sometimes wonder if im providing to much content, i do update sometimes multiple times a day or every day, ive only recently started to hand write posts as well as get some made for me.

as it stands this month i should reach over 9k Unique visitors, im very pleased with my traffic, as i said above about the content, even though i do provide lots they still click the banners to goto the sites this is a good thing im guessing because even though there is lots they still go and check it out right?

With all this traffic and not very much revenue, and by that i mean im not making at least 1 sale per month lol, any suggestions or tips on how i can make sales, my blog isnt a specific niche which may be the cause, but as i said before they do click the banners even still.

so i wonder should i narrow my categories down to say 10-20 niches, rotate the niche posts 1 niche per day and so on. so that i can better give all my visitors content for the niche they seek?

im not trying to make a fast buck the blog started as more of a hobby at first i liked posting hot gay pics and vids but ive slowly moved it more to paysite postings but because i did that imade sure i was giving lots of content at the same time, i have fed some rss feeds in but no longer do, as i like more control over whats posted.

anyway i think ive rambled alot, but ive read posts on netpond before and you all give such good advice so i thought i would ask.

Your blog looks good. Personally the only thing I would change is the banner at the top of the posts, thats the only thing that I don't think looks right on your blog it would also move the post up so a visitor is more likely to see a picture or at least a bit of a picture which encourages people to look.

You need to see how long people are staying on your blog for to see if theres anything really wrong with it. If the average visit is 20 seconds then you need to make changes, if the average is 2 mins then the changes will be different.

Thinking about it I would also add a great gay cam site or a few more gay banners in the sidebars. What works for you will be different but there are a few great gay sponsors out there that could work well on your blog.

So basically they are treating your site as a blog rather than a place to get porn. That's a good thing and in the long run can be profitable. So in that case I would utilise the traffic by giving your visitors something free.

So for example change your imlive banner to a geo targetted one from a specific gay site like GCruiseCash.com for example, you will get a much better ratio than imlive could ever offer you.

Place a geo targetted banner in your sidebar again I would use gcruise. Sign up to a sponsor that gives away free paysite membership and place them banners in your sidebars.

At the bottom of your blog place another banner for a free paysite or a dating site so that it appears before your site stats, it means if someone gets that far down rather than see boring stats they have something to click that is earning you money.

noted, will put that in place, what is your opinion on 1 post per day and rotating niches? since my blog hasnt be developed for a single niche althought i sapose i could have but why wreck a good thing so far

I generally believe its better to offer people more rather than less, so I would continue with different niches, some people prefer just one or two but ultimately its what works for you.

It's harder to related to adult than mainstream, because adult webmasters don't have the patience, but basically the top blogs in mainstream always update constantly because fresh content is what search engines generally like.

1 niche post a day could be the option, but before doing that you need to work out, if the majority of your traffic is from search engines, then they like what you are doing now, so theres no need to change it. If its from other sources then yes change it.

nods, good advice i get quite a bit of SE, and the keywords they search for i make sure i keep up with that kinda content, keyword rich for that sorta stuff, the rest is from other sites blog directories etc. and lots of direct so that means bookmarks i guess, i just installed feed observer, so im gonna see if i can tap into some statistics that way and see who clicks what where etc, im also using campaigns with my affiliates more these days so i can really focus on who what where when lol u know. im signing up for gcruisecash as we speak since im using ur affiliate code any tips for that program? aside from the geo target ads? btw thank you for your help this board seems way more friendlier then some other boards

Either PPS or the Free program. I am currently doing 1:57 on the free program on one site, but long term PPS gives better returns.

You could create use both Free and PPS, for example free in the top banner spot and PPS in the bottom and do it that way.

ok so before i go ahead and re-do categories etc, and move ahead with the each day different niche strategy i made a list of niches from the chameleon submitter list and was wondering if anything should be omited

Creampie and Cumshot isn't really needed again they are basically the same.

Rather than ebony and latin just use Ethnic.

Stick to uniform and have navy and military in it.

thanks, sounds like a good list, do you think i should utilize categories like tags ? if a post containes both group anal oral and are "ethnic" should i publish the post in each of those categories? its what ive been mostly doing...

I would generally place a post in more than one category if its relevant. So yeah use categories like tags.

For what it is worth this was my first impression of the blog - Twinks nothing but twinks.


The ads are twinks and you don't see a bear or hunk hardly at all and I discovered none in the content though I did not look far - twinks are too young and boring.

Though your blog doesn't advertise itself as twinks it concentrates on them and hence may disappoint many a gay looking for general gay or stud or bear content.

Spaghetti is super but not every gay guy likes spaghetti try feeding them some lasagna too.

Edit: I found the muscle category - I still got the feel of twinkiness from the blog which also sells well
