Proper way to "sell" your template?

Ive been makeing blog templates for awhile now, i used to sell good adult wordpress templates about a year 1/2 ago.

I recently started making this again but some reason their not selling. It could very well be that their not "good" but just to make sure, i wanna know the proper way for selling it.

By proper i mean, what do i include in the zip file when someones interested in buying? Also, what info should i place in the post when i post on a forum that im selling a template? So far i place the templates PSD/screenshot/wordpress plugins/ and a text file with the templates info etc. Is their something im missing?

and its good to be back on this forum, was extremely helpful back then when i was into blogging.

When you post on a forum that you are selling your template you should post a screenshot of the template and a link to a demo which shows the template in action.
Don't forget to mention the price and what is included in the package.

I expect to get
working template
txt file with instructions
PSD file, full, and logo in PSD file
thats cover all what is needed

What Twan said... many of us here are interested in cool looking templates, but without any examples shown and price mentioned nobody can answer your question.

the others answered my Q's pretty good, price is always $25 for a custom template unless theirs anything special needed (usually installation/tweaks) im almost done with a template so ill post it up here and then i can get an honest opinion on wether it sucks or not (i like constructive criticism..tis the only way to learn sometimes)

2008 is a little low for WP blog themes. I do much better with custom work lately so you shoul hunt down clients I guess.

are TGP's still "in" ? been wanting to make templates for them aswell but dont know if its worth the time

You might look to a value added option for those that purchase a template.

The idea I have is for you to write some tutorial style articles for WordPress or TGP.

Put them in a protected area and if someone buys a template they can access the article.

One question you will need to answer is will old customers have access to new articles? Or will customers have to purchase a new template to get the latest articles?

Another value added option is to point out that you will provide customer support if your templates are purchased.

thats a good idea about the articles but im not good at writing tuts, if i was, id give your idea a go just never been a good teacher. i actually forgot to place the "free support" notice too.. wow much thanks for reminding me!
