Do you want a tutorial on WPMU sblog farm creation?

Hi,

I'm pretty good in computers. I am just starting my own simple sblogs network using WPMU. If you think it is a good idea, i can make simple tutorials with screenshots of what to do to get a working sblog farm (from buying domain, to setting up wildcard DNS on host, custom php.ini, and trying to automate everything as much as i can - using only free software; also stuff like configuring plugin and mu-plugins for WPMU).

There's more to blogging (even splogging) than setting up WPMU.

ok, how does it work here ?

should i write every now and then in 1 topic or put on everything when i finish it?

Do you want it really basic like changing the domains DNS if you buy a domain not where you have your server etc. ?

ps. i mean setting up WPMU, then reviewing what sponsors i get, how i get traffic and did i earn earn money.

It can be as detailed as you want. I don't think you need to cover changing DNS, though. (You could do that in another tutorial.) When writing a tutorial you need to cover the basics as well as be able to discuss more advanced aspects of splogging.

Just 2 more questions. Im new to this forum, so i dont know your habits. Should i write this tutorial in blog forum or in tutorials?

I want to update with small steps. Should i make a new thread or write in the same thread (it will be hard to read when other people will reply)

Personally, I'd write the tutorial in a blog and then post it in a new thread here in the blogging forum. (Never overlook the chance to build another blog with good spider food.) But you're writing the tutorial so do what you're comfortable with.

ok, i decided that i will split the work into steps (like: installation, configuration, editing, deploying blogs, acquiring sponsors etc.) and post it in different posts

I think you know that better than me

Automation in WPMU for me is for example, when creating a new blog:

-it already has multiple ping services configured(>200), pings optimized to avoid mistaken as spammer
-categories and the feedwordpress is configured, you just have to add feeds,
-the page is already SEO friendly, including image automatic SEO friendly conversion (automatic configuration of plugins),
-the ads, custom elements of the template are already added
-google analytics configured
-site friendly for PDA, Iphone, Mobiles

most of this stuff is done by custom editing plugins or core files. it is pretty simple, but there is much googling to find everything. i can also write on other automation topics (like morphing blog creation, but this is not an easy task) if you have a good idea.

what i mean - there are many good plugins for wordpress, which are useful for wpmu, but they need little tweaks, that are hard for a typical user.

I hope to get your advice, guys, in the process of creating all this. I'm proficient in IT, but not as much in Porn business

i know automation when it comes to write my own software

in the past there was a guy "digits" around who was making tons of wpmu blogs using macros programs. They were auto picking keywords, titles, descriptions, making the blogs, putting feeds and etc..

I thought you will be taking that way and since i never had time to research and try myself using macros i thought it would be great for you to share it with all of us

yeah we can try it. I have some experience with this stuff, but for the beginning, simple things.

Also i dont need such automation. I'm going for several hundred blogs on this wpmu network, not several thousands. Maybe later we will think about wide automation.

I would love a wpmu tutorial. It would be great if you could cover security aspects. Of course it would be great if you showed how to run in on multiple domains, not only subdomains too.
