Today I was in trouble. Found a page with Google which is similar to my site, and wanted to trade links with it... but there was a problem. I didn't find a single data who the hell is the owner of this site!? Not an email, name, etc.

So, I think every webmaster should place a link to the linkex site at the bottom.
In this way, we don't need to contact each other by email. I don't really like to write emails "Hi There, May I trade links with you..." or whatever shit. With LinkEX you have to manage your blogs hardlinks easily.

So, if your LinkEX page is on "yourdomain.com/linkex" just place a link to the bottom of your page with a name "Webmasters - trade link here" or something like this.

Maybe I'm wrong, or it's a really bad idea, but I think you should use this method guys. (maybe it's not suitable for sploggers)

Not just linkex - maybe just a simple contact form...

I use this one on most of my wordpress blogs:

CONTACT FORM

Easy to set up and has delivered both advertising requests/trades and the odd cyber sex session - okay I lied about the last bit but ya get my drift

Yeah, maybe linkex is not so safe, you have to chmod the linkex dir to 777...

chmod 777 means "all privileges to everyone". How will security be better with chmod 777 on linkex dir? Or I didn't undersood well?

I would guess you need the latest version of linkex.
But make sure you first do a search to see if the latest version contains leaks.

Not everyone uses Linkex. How about looking at the whois if you really want to contact them?

i personally hate linkex cause it's extremely non personal. it's hard to tell who is a good webmaster/designer and who isn't and linkex let's any idiot create a site and add it to your link partners..

either find them from their contact page, find their contact info from searching the domain records, or don't contact them at all. if they don't want to get contact info, they won't set their site up properly for it. either they are complete idiots or their site is too stupid for you to want to trade with them anyway. if a person can't create their site to contact them when you want to write the 'staff' mail, then their traffic prob sucks too.

Having contact information can lead to many useless mails, but once a while a interesting mail comes along which makes reading the useless mails worth the while

dont go with link x, its too exploitable....it doesnt re-scan for link backs....i once had an entire list of trades get 'suspended' because they removed the links...

also, people can add your link, and not even give it back from a real page, u can make a fake page that has no purpose, and just add links to it, and request from real blogs....

go with something else....i use link organizer, expensive, but i like the reports it gives me (will tell u if the site contains popup codes and even if your link is past the 100 outbound link mark)
