FeedWordPress plugin for WP

I am currently trying out the "FeedWordPress" plugin for Wordpress: The PORN! Blog - RSS Fed

Any others that have had a good tryout/use of this...?
Anything I have to keep a lookout for then using this plugin...?

personally i prefer to use wp-autoblog but they both do much the same

They don't make double posts...?
Like everytime they update a feed.
I know they should't, but you never know.

Btw, looks like some sponsors use the samme title on
all post from a feed, like OnlyCash (OnlyTease) does.

Does it have to be a plugin? Maybe you should check Blog Organizer from Kaktusan?

no they don't unless you mean that each post is the same for evey blog that uses the feed which is true (unless the sponsor has a morphing feed)

Hi kneehighsoxxx,
(sort of similar name to me )

I use Feedwordpress on some of my splog blogs. I like it because (unless you want to) you don't have to mess about with cron jobs to get it up and running.
The downside is that it sometimes conflicts with Wordpress updates.

But there is a fix for that here and it's easy to do - it's just a matter of uploading the feedwordpress magpie rss files and overwriting the updated wordpress ones - it's all explained better than that on the post I linked to.

The other thing I found is that it conflicts with moving widgets, so if I want to do that, I disable Feedwordpress on the plugins page, move the widgets and then go back into plugins and turn Feedwordpress back on. Works fine then.

its still available if you look around there is even a version 2.0 patched by a third party but IMO its not as good as the first one

I just started using "FeedWordPress" myself
I like it much - since it is super easy to use.
The only thing I wish it had was a way to change the posts - ie change words or phrases .

a word of caution, i tried the latest feedwordpress on a splog an a new host and found that feedwordpress wasnt pushing through the coffect affiliate codes on some feeds (especially ccbill codes) make sure you check very carefully! some codes had the affiliate PA number missing completely and even worse some looked correct but didnt actually send the correct code through, this was only spotted when a sponsor contacted me to tell me that i was using the wrong codes for my blog, i checked and i was using the right codes. i had to delete every single post then remake the blog using a different rss feeder pluging

I have noticed the same with affiliate codes and feedwordpress. I switched over to Feedwordpress from wpautoblog and noticed a drop in CCBill hits and sales.
I have used autoblog the last couple years, but didn't like the way it handles categories.

I have decided to move to BO for now.

I hadn't really noticed any problems with affiliate codes on the splogs I use Feedwordpress on, but there again, they are very old blogs used mainly to get surfers to my 'better blogs'. But I could have missed a few sales, I guess. I'll have to check up!

I only use FeedWordpress on newer blogs to post category feeds from my handwritten blogs to my niche blogs and that seems to work okay, as each post links directly to the main blog, but again, I had better check. Trouble is, there are hundreds of them!
Oh well...

I use BO to post to splogs nowadays, but the problem there is the limitations with categories. Nothing is ever straight forward!
