blogs gone

awoke yesterday to find 42 blogs at blogspot gone,they were worth around 2k a day in traffic and growing se traffic as well.
emailed blogspot who have no knowledge of the reason why,could it be a hacked account?
i had some good se traffic and wondered if anyone else had experienced this?

I had a new blog dissapear. Good thing I hadn't done more than small edits and post a couple of posts.
Try to recreate them (that's what I did with mine) and get your traffic back.

well, thats one of the consequences of using remote free services for you biz ;(

hope you will get your things back, or atleast honest and reasonable answer why they are gone..

That sucks. A Hacker doesn't make much sense to me though. Why would they delete the blogs... Seems like they'd just change the ref codes of put in their own content.

probably sucking too mutch bandwith for them so they do the usual
free services are good for playing and learning but keep your good blogs on your own hosting

When i first started reading about blogs i thought about using a free service but then i though i dont have full control over it. Thats what put me off.

Much better to use your own domains imo

i managed to get most of my names back so going to spend some time on a damage limitation mission today.
out the best 3 se blogs i had,two carn't be registered,but sitting on my best one is this guy

Seems strange that someone could get a hold of it so quickly and register it. There are many blogs that are never used, yet the names never become available again. Weird!!

Blogspot states that if a blog is deleted then the name become reusable (apparently immediately).

Is there a way on blogspot to backup your stuff?

havn't a clue how its all happened,seems coincidental that the name appeared so quickly after being deleted.
i may have not logged out of blogger on saturday nigh so maybe theres an issue there.
pain in the arse as i have to worl like a bastard on key words.
theres a few warnings to be headed here for other bloggers,i only used blog spot because it was easy to set up and control a hole load of blogs but.....
and maybe there is a security issue here as well?

I'm *definately* sticking to WP and my own hosting for anything I don't consider expendable (I'll probably still get a few quick and dirty feeder blogs up at Blogspot).

I can only imagine how I would feel about loosing a couple of my largest blogs - aside from the traffic and income setback, there would be several thousand lines of text lost. No way in hell I could "rebuild" that without a database backup (and yep, I do remember to backup my WP databases regularly

).

I hope you are able to get your blogs up and running again in one form or another.

True, anytime you really want to keep control you need to host yourself.

However, isn't there a big advantage using blogspot over your own host -- it is part of Google and I'd think that would help in getting your Google placement.

the saving grace,if any,is that because of the mrs not being well,the blogs had become more fake tgp ish (sorry for swearing) so shouldn't take too long to get back to the old traffic levels,i hope.
BTW anyone who had links,Karl for one,drop me a pm with the blogs concerned and I will re list.
