A little present for all bloggers: Blog Post Builder

Here is a little present from me to the adult blogging community to celebrate my move to a new home!

What is Blog Post Builder?
Blog Post Builder makes writing multiple blog posts with a certain format faster, the process of resizing and cropping images used in blog posts will become more efficient and the overall time you spend on composing and writing blog posts will decrease.

How does it work?
This is a Post Template, simple html with a couple tags:

<a href="$LINK(A link)"><img src="$IMAGE(A image)" border="0"></a><BR>
$TEXT(My text)

If you use the above template in Blog Post Builder then 3 fields will appear, a link field, a image field and a text field. The image field is a special field. You can select a image from your harddisk and crop & resize it. When you finished filling in these 3 fields Blog Post Builder will:

• Create the final blog post:
  <a href="http://www.mysite.com"><img src="http://www.myimageserver.com/img.jpg" border="0"></a><BR>Wow, look at that!
• Upload the cropped & resized image (img.jpg) to your server.
• Add the final blog post to your blog.
• Simple!

Blog Post Builder is a program that you may use for free, it doesn't contain spyware or adware. In the future a paid version of Blog Post Builder will likely see the light, but their will always be a free version.

Blog Post Builder is actually quite usefull, but it is a little difficult to understand what it does. Maybe i should make a better description.

How can be used hotlinkable images instead of uploading them to every server?

Create your own post template For example:

<a href="$LINK(A link)"><img src="$LINK(A url to a hotlinkable image)" border="0"></a><BR>
$TEXT(My text)

When you use this post template 2 fields will appear on the Links tab:
- A Link
- A url to a hotlinkable image
Just enter a url to a hotlinkable image in the "A url to a hotlinkable image" field and Blog Post Builder will use that url for the image.

It is already there It isn't tested though, but it should work without problems:
- install Blog Post Builder on your windows computer
- copy the "BlogPost" folder including subfolders to your linux computer
- and run it with: "java -jar pg_blogpost.jar"

This procedure should also work on the mac, solaris, unix and any other operating system.

You don't have to do this on windows, on windows you only have to download Setup.exe and double click it

I used to writer software in delphi, but java makes the developing time a lot shorter and it is easier too. So i'm experimenting a bit

Delphi makes me drool. I have learned Pascal a lot but haven't touched Delphi yet, tried so called "open source Delphi," named Lazarus though. Anyway, it seems like a cool IDE but I guess Java's IDE could be good too

Here are a couple suggestions that i received:
- save posted blog posts for re-use.
- post a blog post to multiple blogs with one click.

I'll add these features soon.
