ping question

Hello guys.

I use pingomatic to ping my blog when it get updates.
Actually as the feeds are updated automatically i ping my blog once per day or once every 2 days.

Now, my question is ... if i ping more and more places it is better or just with pingomatic services is enough ??

pingomatic is enough.... the importance of pinging is the ping services to know that you have new content...

Yup, i used to ping loads of services...and get rejected on about 50% of them.
Now i ping manually at pingoat, and that gives better results than before.

i agree in that ping is to let them know i have new content but according to that if i ping more services more places will know i update my content ...

in the other hand i know the services i ping are frecuently visited by search engines ...

if all search engines visit the ping services of pingomatic then i think is enough but if they can visit other pinging services then it will not.

please, give me a little more details there to solve my dilema

Ping-O-Matic pings a number of services for you. So by pinging them, you are letting all the major sites know that you've updated. Pingoat is the same other than I had problems with them and adult about 7 months ago and I'm not sure if their policies have changed.

I used to use a large list myself but have not noticed any change in traffic since going to only pinging Ping-O-Matic. On the otherhand, if I forget to ping Ping-O-Matic, I will see a pretty drastic drop.

I see the same drop without pinging pingomatic, that is why i decied to ask here about it.
