domain forum on adult board or adult forum on domain board?

Which do you think is best? It seems that many of the adult webmasters who visit domain forums don't visit the Netpond domain forum. Now maybe they could ask themselves how many non-adult domainers visit those adult forums. If the answer is "not many", then they would be better served by being active in this forum, and getting the benefit of experience from other adult industry webmasters.

I'm not saying don;t visit those forums, but I am saying that the adult industry has many specific problems that don't get addressed on general domain boards.

I think it works both ways in a certain sense and I also think it goes beyond 'adult'. All (99.9%) webmasters are domain owners. Domainers on the other hand are usually not webmasters. Unless they stumble on a type-in or typo type-in they have no idea how to monetize a domain.

I think tech and general webmaster forums are a great place to buy domains. The 'domainer' crowd and all the dedicated forums have an extremely high % of fraud and scammers, in two cases I know of by the board owners themselves. They use multiple nicks and create false frenzy's and 'testimonials' and fake stats to drive up the value of their own domains. It puts adult wm-to-wm fraud to shame

Next question should be something like; What should the Netpond domain forum offer you other than a marketplace to buy/sell your domains?

The marketplace is already an obvious choice of what a domain forum can offer. What other things might it be able to offer in order to encourage you to return visit?

In some ways buying and selling should be in a separate forum, but we don't have enough posts to support that at the moment. The other things that this forum could offer are -

A place to exchange subjective views and opinions. One recent discussion was on the differences between .net names and names with hyphens. It would be nice to have more of these threads.

Questions and requests for advice from newbies and others. The adult biz has some problems all of its own, and this is the ideal place to discuss them.

News threads

Reports of good and bad domaining experiences to help other Netponders.

And one that I'm thinking of starting soon - A Q&A thread with questions like "How do I transfer a name?". That's one I'll write fairly soon, but I'm a bit reluctant to answer all the questions, because I seem to have some different views on things, and they may not be suitable for everybody. If anyone wants to volunteer a post, then please pm me.
