Hmm... how can you be profitable with $7.75 price per domain? For example, Head Boy is selling his domains for $7.95... so, if you want to follow that price you will have $0.2 profit per domain... that means you need to sell 300 domains per year to cover your basic costs...
On the other hand, you're not Namecheap to go with $8.88 price per domain, and even GoDaddy have lower prices...
OK, in combination with hosting and other products it could be easier to gain some profit, but still it seems pretty hard... especially if you don't have traffic built to feed your new site immediately...

From what you said, and what I checked... it's the same thing as I said earlier... .com registrations - $7.95... what's the difference, bulk deal or not? And as a newbie in that part of the biz you can fuck yourself in the ass and tear apart trying to even get on Google with such a site, and even if you come to page 1 what you can do with $7.95 offer when first ad on SERP is from GoDaddy with $6.95 offer...

There's no real money in new reg domain names. It's the add-ons, hosting, SSLs, privacy, etc, that sweeten the pie. You have to sell domains to sell the rest of the stuff.

I'm not very sure about that... for example, I'm affiliate of one hosting program that give 3 months of free hosting, I've got dedicated server for free for a year and getting $5 for every new customer who take that 3 months free hosting option... that seems much better than running my own site, paying something less than $4 for hosting plan and getting $0.5 - 1.0 per hosting plan... also, I think I don't need to tell that bigger order than go trough my affiliate code makes me much more money... so, it's much easier to work with affiliate programs than running your own site...
