this is my first thread on this forum

ok i have a domain registered and want to move it to godaddy and start buying more domains.

i don't know exactly how to move a domain name. it will expire on feb, 2008 but i want to move it now and build my domain portfolio on godaddy.

does moving a domain name involve a down time?

lastly are there choices other than godaddy?

Do you want to move your domain to Godaddy? Hmm... I also have several domains at Godaddy, had a few problems at some point with them and I'd move away from them. I don't do it now because I don't have the time for it. Tried to move away once but I gave up simply because the process is a hassle and it takes a lot of time.

I'd recommend you use www.namecheap.com, it's cheap and has a good service and helpful support. Also, you may consider www.gkg.net, my last favourite ( it offers incredible discounts if you buy several domains at once ).

There are loads of choices for registering names. Companies like Godaddy and Moniker are ICANN approved registrars, and others such as Namecheap and me are resellers.
As a very simple guideline, don't pay less than $6.50 (they can't make a profit, so they have to get money some other way), and don't pay more than $9 (service seems to drop if you do).

There shouldn't be any downtime at all in a move. the dns isn't changed durin the process. The move takes between 5 and 15 days, and you will,be asked to extend the life of your name by an extra year.

I'm working with GoDaddy, Namecheap and Head Boy... unfortunately, Namecheap and GoDaddy doesn't accept Netpond points so your way to go would be Head Boy's service...

i signed up with head boys service but he doesn't have .cc

so i guess i'll go with godaddy

There are 3 reason why I don't accept ccs.

Visa has a policy of encouraging buyer fraud with chargebacks. As the domain industry is full of fraud and buyer remorse, I decided that I would prefer to keep prices low and not have to include an element for insurance.

You need to maintain a reasonable volume of transactions to keep cc processing costs down. As the service is offered mainly to Netponders, I can't acieve those levels.

I accept Money Bookers dollars, and those can be funded by credit card.

man i meant .cc domains the domain i want to transfer is s3x.cc
