Have you got domain names registered through Lela

If you have, then please post in this thread, or send me a pm.

I'll see if we can submit a block application to retrieve them.

Please don't post in this thread if you don't have names with Lela, but you are welcome to start an alternative one of course.

You can get your domains back from lela,.. enom is very understanding and will help.
-------------------------------------------------

enom was great in handling my issue with a domain I had through lela.
attached is the copy of the email,..

-----------------------------------------
Hello XXXX,

As you are listed as the owner of the domain via the WHOIS record and have had no response from your reseller, we can assist you with transferring the domain(s) directly to eNom, so you will be in control of the domain and can make any changes you need.

To do this, you can go to www.enomcentral.com to create an account.

Then send me an email with the domain name and your login ID as well as a legible copy of your photo ID so that I may verify domain ownership.

After receiving your information, we will send the unlock request and transfer key to the registrant email address (currently set to XXXXXX ) so that you can transfer the domain into your own account and make any changes you need to make.

Best regards,

XXXX | business development

I received this from enom:

Hello,
What you can do is actually contact the parent company of lelehosting, here is their information. They will be able to assist you and they are very responsive.

Organization: ModernDNS

I sent the admin of modernDNS an email.

Lela Refugee - Have recovered my domains....

Just wanted to let people know I have been successful at recovering my dozen or so domain names from lela hosting...I leaned pretty heavy on eNom, Inc., and cited their own reseller agreement clause F. regarding if a reseller should die or turn into a shitbag etc. etc., and lo and behold, the seas parted and some anonymous fuck from cierragroup (probably Tim) emails me and acts all "Wha' Happen...?" and offers to point my domains to new nameservers, like all I had to do was ASK....

Anyhow that's the skinny on me, anyone having a similar problem and is not getting anywhere, feel free to private email me. Incidentally I'm relocated to www.atcihosting.com for the hosting and using www.namecheap.com for registering, and they seem fine.

Later....

Congratulations, dysphornicate, on getting your domain names from enom. I have not heard back from modernDNS yet and I am doubting that I will.

This is for all who have domains locked and "held hostage" by the dereliction of Lelahosting. There is hope. This post is essentially a paper trail of my correspondance with ENOM, who is in control of the situation. This was the first response I got from ENOM, Inc.:

To Whom it may concern:

This domain was originally registered through one of our resellers, information below. You will want to contact them for your account information and domain assistance as you do not have a direct eNom account. I do show that they are active on our system. Please try contacting them with the information below, as it might differ from what you were using previously. They will be able to help you with this matter.

YOUR RESELLER INFO:
Organization: Lela Hosting
Site link: http://www.lelahosting.com
Address:
3201 E Seneca St #267
Tucson, AZ 85716
US

Phone: +1.5203232533
Fax: +1.5207952677
Email: sales@lelahosting.com

I replied with this:

Sirs,

That phone number has been disconnected. None of the pages are operational on that website. Clicking on the "contact" page merely generates a 404.

This is a serious problem. I would be happy to join enom to have these domains transferred to me, if that is what it takes. Several of them are sites for other people with whom I acted as a reseller, and it's making me look very bad.

Anything you can do to be of assistance will be greatly appreciated. I am sure there are more people than me who have been hurt in this lelahosting fiasco. You should see the number of negative posts on the webmaster boards Tim promoted himself on.

Thank you.

Douglas Brooker

That seemed to get somewhere, as I started getting more sympathetic replies:

Hello Douglas,
I've gone ahead and emailed the reseller on your behalf. I've also included the company through which they purchased their reseller account on our system - ModernDns. If Lela Hosting does not respond to either of us in 48 hours, ModernDNS should be able to help you out. You can contact them at Sales@ModernDNS.com or Admin@ModernDNS.com.

Then I got this from cierragroup, who was the "parent" company of lelahosting:

Douglas,

We can modify your nameservers to point to whatever server you would like
them to. We just need to know which nameservers you would like and we can
set that up for you.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Thank you,

Billing Department
Lela Hosting
a division of Cierra Group
billing@cierragroup.com

I suspect Tim is hiding behind Cierra Group and trying to do the right thing, without revealing his identity, so griping to billing@cierragroup.com might be a good beginning point. The verbiage is very similar to support ticket replies I got from Lela. I don't know if he's a total con man, or merely inept in the running of his businesses, but you should get some immediate response at this email address, whoever is at the helm.

Here is the rest of the correspondance relating to actually transferring the domains into your control, and extending the registration through ENOM or a registrar of your choice:

Hi Douglas,

Please visit www.enomcentral.com and create a free account. You will have to transfer the domain names to your account and I can assist you directly. With a valid credit card on file please request that you would like me to have your domain names transferred over to you and I will get that done, price per domain name to transfer is $29.95 which will also extend your domains for an additional year. Your other option is to just send you the unlock confirmations and epp so that you can transfer to a registrar of your choice. Please let me know what you would like to do. Thanks again.

After creating the free accounts, they transferred what I needed to do to unlock the domains, and explained in detail what to do with this email:

Hi Doug,

Perfect. I have sent you the unlock requests and authorization codes for each domain name. Please first reply back to the unlock email requesting you want the domain unlocked. Please do that for each unlock email you have. Then when our transfers department send you the confirmation that it has been unlocked you may login to you account and initiate a transfer by following the steps below.

To transfer a domain name to eNom from your current registrar or from one eNom account into another, follow the instructions listed below.

Login to your eNom account

1. Hover over the menu option "DOMAINS" and then click "TRANSFER A DOMAIN NAME"
2. Select the Auto verification option click the next button.
3. Type the domain names you wish to transfer to eNom in the text field. (To prevent the interface from timing out it is best to not exceed 100 domains on any one transfer order.)

4. Using the check boxes provided, select which options that you would like to apply to the domains on your transfer order (see below). Once you have made your selections, click the next button.

Registrar Lock (This is an additional security setting which prevents unauthorized transfer of your domain away from eNom. The registrar lock can be removed at any time from within your account or by request of the listed registrant or administrative contact for the domain.)
Auto Renew (attempts to automatically renew your domain 30 days prior to expiration)
Apply Whois info (automatically retains current whois information.) If you do not select this option, your account (billing) information will replace the current whois information when the domain transfers. Please note that even if you select this option, for fax transfers you MUST type the registrant information for each domain where you are not the registrant.
If you are transferring an EPP domain (.org, .info, .biz, .us, .cn, .com.cn, .net.cn, .org.cn, .cn, .tw, .jp and .in) you will be asked to provide the EPP/authorization key for each domain name in the order before you can submit the request. The authorization key can be obtained from the current registrar and is required to transfer EPP domains.

Type or copy and paste (recommended) the EPP/authorization key into the Authorization Key field and then click the submit button. To complete your transfer request and begin the transfer process, click the submit button.

Please be sure that you have removed the registrar lock from these domain(s) prior to submitting a transfer request. A registrar lock is a security setting to prevent unauthorized transfers between registrars and can be removed by the current registrar of record. If the domain is in "registrar-lock" status, the registry will deny the transfer request. If you are not sure of the current registrar for your domain(s), you can find this information (for .com and .net domains) at http://registrar.verisign-grs.com/whois/.

Due to changes in ICANN regulations, eNom's transfer process has been modified as follows:
There are no longer three transfer options. The Auto-Verification and EPP transfer methods are now combined. The standard Auto-Verification transfer method will not change. However, for all EPP domains (.org, .info, .biz, .us, .cn, .com.cn, .net.cn, .org.cn, .cn, .tw, .jp and .in) , email verification will be required in addition to the EPP/authorization key.

You might want to cut to the chase and contact Mr. Kim about this matter. Just refer to yourself as another "lelahosting refugee".

Hope this helps.
