Damn please help
me figure out what will happen now.
I got a domain through my host when I set up some hosting a year ago, the creation date was 21st December 2006. Well, the record was just updated on 22nd December 2007 and now points to a fucking holding page. Firstly, my damned host has obviously not renewed it or even notified me (since they would get the notification because they reg'd it using their email addy). And secondly, I thought a 1 year domain would then lead to a 60 day redemption period? Or does that begin before the 1 year is up? What timeframe should this be following? Thanks... __________________

It says 'No matching registrar for blah.com" when I do a registrar search, but when I do a whois search I get:
SPOT DOMAIN LLC DBA DOMAINSITE.COM __________________

ummm ... you not doing a Registrar search, do a domain search, the top radio button.
Just login to your DomainSite account and renew it. It's probably setting there waiting.  They had some trouble a few days ago on renewals. I think their cart was screwed up. __________________

It probably belongs to them, and you will have trouble getting it. This is why we are constantly saying that you shouldn't register names through your host - is all the work you've done worth more than the $8 you saved?
Your best bet is to write to them and ask if you can pay for the renewal, or if you can buy it from them. __________________

email your hosting provider because it is on 60 day hold redemption period, you might be paying alot more than reg fee for this name cuz of the redemption period...if you do get it renewed, transfer that name out, which will be hard cuz its with that host ...either way ...yikez
