question about pushing domain

Lets say domain expires tomorrow, can I push it to others person account at the same registrar today? Or there is time period when its too late - for example if I want to push to my own account at different registrar I can't do that if 7 or less days left before expiration

It varies between registrars - for example you can push a name reg'd through me as long as I still have control over it. I think the most extreme example I can remember is 32 days after expiry. In cases like this I would expect the new owner to renew immediately though.

It's really up to the registrar to decide on the conditions associated with pushes. Some of them put a 60-day transfer block on the new owner as well.

I don't know where you have domains at but when it comes to a transfer you can do it the day before it expires.
As long as the Registrar it's at is notified of the transfer request before the actual expiration date they have
to honor it even if it expires during the 72 hr hold some have.
As far as a push to a different Registrar there is no such thing. It has to be transfered from 1 Reg to another
and renewed for a year.

I don't know why a push would make any difference at the same Registrar, either way it would have
to be renewed the next day..

I know what you saying, when I said push to another registrar I obviously meant transfer to another registrar. And there is time limit when you can't transfer - its 7 days I believe. At least at godaddy

GD has no 7 day rule, you can transfer them the day before they expire..

Then that means another registrar has 7day rule not to accept domains Was pushing well ok transfering from godaddy to namecheap

I've got a nominal 10-day rule, but I have transfered names between registrars when they have been closer to expiry. It all starts to fall to pieces if the transfer fails though.

yeah that may be 10 not 7 day rule.. so does that mean all registrars have such a rule?

I've transfered them the day before alot, as long as the transfer is started
and the Registrar with the domain is notified before it expires even if it
expires while the 72 hour hold some registrars have it still will go through.
Check the ICANN rules on delaying a transfer..
This domains at Namecheap and expires on the 21st, I'll have it transfered to GD tomorrow..kxoa.com

You transfer to godaddy and I transfer to namecheap. If domain expires after 7 (or 10 days I am not sure, but 7 days is a minimum) it says that domain can not be transfered

I put in for a transfer at a WildWest Registrar which is GoDaddy from
them to Moniker on the 26th that expired on the 28th of this month
or 2 days before it expired..
It's at Moniker now

I don't know why it would make a difference, as I said GoDaddy or
it's resellers with WildWest don't have any rule about not being able
to transfer domains as far as time goes.
As long as they're notified by the Registrar you're transfering it to
before the domain expires they still let it go through.

I think we found out already that its namecheap's 10 day rule not godaddy's... headboy has 10 days rule aswell as you noticed him posting

I believe ya but it doesn't make much sense them turning down a
transfer to them?
I know I transfered one out of there to GD with 2 days left before
expiring..

Just for future ref. Namecheap will except a transfer with less than 7 days
as long as the Registrar holding the domain will release it.

As long as the transfer is proceeding as normal before expiration, the
transfer will complete (although this is of course if they release the
domain)

If its less than 7 days before expiry it says : domain cannot be transfered.
If they accept (as they claim in your last quote) it and godaddy release it (as you say) so where is the problem then? Higher power (eg. the GOD) holding it?

Well that reply was from Namecheap support..
As long as you know the Registrar where the Domain is will release it they'll except it..
They won't let a domain go tho, only except a tramsfer.
