Well PR is no longer quantifiable, and Google has stated that it's spybar has little relevance to page ranking.
Once a name appears on the drop lists, then Google will drop historic ranking in most cases, and as the domain will have been out of the zone for a few weeks, then many links will have been removed as well. Registrars are monitoring the traffic to expired names, and it is unlikely that they will allow a good one to drop. Despite all of the above, it is still possible to find good traffic names that have expired - it's just quite hard to beat everybody else to register them. You can try a Google search to see how many links are still active. This will also show you how many times the name has appeared on the refunded lists.__________________
