The new domain names sub-forum

The sharp eyed amongst you will notice that there is a new sub-forum for domain name sales, wants and auctions. This is a great addition, and one that we have been talking about for a few months. Hopefully it will allow us to expand the news and chat threads in this forum. Please read my initial guidelines, and suggest any alterations that you think should be considered either in this thread, or the one in the sales forum.

I'll have a look at the current sales threads, and I'll move some of the later ones across as soon as I am able. Until then you can continue posting in the sales thread in this forum, but please don't start any new sales threads here.

Yes please, and it's probably worth doing what you have done, and stating that it's a wanted thread. Auctions can go there as well. In fact anything to do with trading specific names should be in that forum, General discussions on finding and registering domain names should be in this forum.

Don't worry if you get it wrong, 'cos I'll move it.

Now if you guys carry on supporting the new sub-forum, maybe I can talk Meat into having a wanted or auction forum as well.

Wanted could be a great place for sponsors thinking of opening new paysites, or affiliates moving into new niches.

Don't wish to piss on anyones party but am I the only person who see's this as a negative move? The popularity of the sub domain will in my opinion mean the death of the domain name forum with far fewer posts, hope I am wrong...

I kinda wondered that too at first, but I also kinda like the idea of keeping domain news/etc separate from sales threads. I guess time will tell but I dunno I kinda like the idea.

I like it, I think it adds some predictable structure to the forum. If you want to discuss domains, Q&A, domain news, ICANN news, etc you know where to go. Without needing to sift through 'For Sale' posts.

I like the idea of the new sub-forum. If you want to buy/sell you know where to go without sifting through and bumping down discussion posts.

2 reasons:
domain discussion threads won't be lost between sale threads
netpondwith domain sales subforum might grow into another decent domain selling market and attract more domainers
