GoDaddy push question??

I bought a domain off DJ here that is registered at GoDaddy & thought I just had to reply to the email from godaddy to get the domain added to my account but so far I've received no emails from godaddy?? Is it me that has to initiate the push or DJ??

ask DJ to send an email from godaddy, you should get an email with 2 codes

Godaddy is litle complicate for me.Got 1 domain with godaddy and will not register anymore. I preffer namecheap.com

No, not you, DJ initiates it.
if that were the case I'd own all your domain names.

Login to your account
go to Manage Domains >
mouse over the Domains tab drop down menu >
select Pending Account Changes >
click Accept Domains

Technically it's not a transfer. It's an account change.

In the drop down menu select Pending Account Changes not Pending Transfers

You need to give him your name, adress, phone number first. Then he initiates and you getemail of how should you accept it.

Actually all he needs is your GoDaddy email addy and then he has
to push it to your email addy.
You can change the whois after it's pushed..

when you push domain, fields like name, address and phone number are required fields, marked "*"

Yes, something has to be in those boxes but it can be yours
as long as something is in them and they're not blank in the required fields.

They just push it by his GoDaddy email addy, he can change the whois later.

But on another note, If you push me a domain with "some" whois info does it mean I will have domains with different whois info in my single godaddy account? Then there is no need for domain privacy, just put a bullshit info in it

It's against ICANNs policy to have bad whois info on a domain and
you can lose it.
Besides without the right email addy you won't get renewel notices.
You can change your Whois info anytime by logging in to your account
but ya taking a chance on losing it.
I push domains at GD all the time and I ask for all the info so I know
all their whois info is right but if I don't have it I just use the email.

yes but I thought when you have one godaddy account all your domains have the same whois info - the one you provided togodaddy. And its strange that you can have different whois info for different domains. For example I am john johnson, all my domains has this info and then you push a domain with "some" info like Ted Peterson.
How would godaddy allow this? I mean I am one person and how come I can have 2 names It should not allow that, it does not make sense

You have the option during purchase fresh. If you're logged in unless you specify otherwise it will be your default whois.

Pushing domains is different at Registrars, at Moniker you need the acct # and an authorization code and them it uses the default for the person getting the push.
At GD it doesn't, registering a domain at GD automatically goes to your
default settings but a push doesn't.

Yes, but how come registrar allows that? I mean If I have 2 domains with different name and address and other details its obvious that 1 of them has fake whois info Well maybe they do not care but if I was ICANN I would not allow that

As long as you pay for it the Registrar could care less. I have some
D's registered in my name and addy in an account and also some with
a company name and addy & a different address & phone 3.
